I got to freak my boss out last week. He was sitting in my cube and chatting away and he happen to look down at my feet and saw that they weren't straight. He pointed that out to me and I said yea, they've always been that way. So I stood up and proceeded to show him how "crooked" I could get them. So I put my feet heel to heel so they were touching like in this picture. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...feet_first.gif
That made him shutter. LOL So then I put my feet in this other position like in the second picture. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...feet_third.gif
That made him walk out of my cube. LOL

So I started looking at more ballet moves and practiced a couple of them last night. Never have taken any dance classes at all in my life so I was surprised to learn what I can do naturally. I can do all the ballet steps on this webpage The Ballet Site | All About Ballet and I can do the plies seen here The Art of Ballet although my plie is not graceful or pretty but I can do it. I did the grand plie and really felt that in my thighs. So I'm thinking that I will keep doing these ballet moves to strengthen my legs and work on my balance as well.

Do you know of any other ballet type exercises I can try? I know there are videos out there for exactly this but I really have no money and can't spend any at all. I think I have $16 to last me until Friday and then by the time I pay bills, get groceries and get new wiper blades for car, I'll have another $16 until the next payday. lol So free is the key.

Do you know of any websites that list and give pictures for ballet type exercises for complete morons (also known as Me)

Hi Katie! I just read your ballet thread - the description you gave of freaking out your boss cracked me up! Are you still doing these exercises? If so, what kind of reps / how often / what is your routine like and has it been helping? I'm always looking for a form of exercise that isn't your typical exercise ----- goal: to fool myself into thinking I'm not really exericsing! I HATE EXERCISING!
Did you find anymore free info on ballet moves, etc?
talk to you soon.........

Hiya!! Yes, I'm still doing the ballet moves at night when I do the rest of my stretches before bed. I think it has helped build the calf muscles more and the inner and outer thighs a little bit. I also think it's helping me improve my balance which I seem to have little of. LOL I did find some workout videos that you can buy that have a whole routine of exercise with nothing but Ballet stuff. It seems that ballet as exercise is becoming more popular these days. I haven't bought any videos but a quick search came up with this page Ballet Exercise Videos and DVDs. I'm sure if you type in Ballet as exercise in google, You'll see how many sites come up. I may buy one of those videos if I ever get more money.. lol
