Ok....I NEVER thought I would be seriously considering this but....

Has anyone used a thighmaster? I have made fun of this product so many times I can't even count them. But, here I am finding myself with thighs that won't tone up like the rest of me is. So guess what I start thinking about....the thighmaster.

I can honestly see why it would work. It is a good concept. It was just promoted so cheesily that I never really gave it serious consideration.

I am currently doing pilates and hoping to start walking outside when the weather warms up but with my weight loss / pilates, my thighs are still my problem area. They need to catch up with the rest of me!! I have been looking at ellipticals but don't really have the space to give up for one. I could join a gym but I know myself well enough to know that I will go there less than I will ever exercise at home.

So.....thighmaster anyone? (I can't believe I'm saying that)

Okay, let's see...

First, you cannot spot reduce any part of your body. My thighs will always be my problem area. They were the largest part of me when I was a size 3 as they still are now.

The only way to reduce the size of any part of your body is through cardio. It's an overall burn. That said... the more muscle you have(no matter the location), the more calories your body will burn when you work out. This is one reason why strength training is so important. The other obviously is toning... increase the size of your muscles and as the fat is removed the better your body will look.

So finally... I'd say that if you were looking to increase the muscles in your thighs to aide in the overall calorie burn as well as for toning, this would probably be a very good way to do exactly that! Just be certain to perform cardio as well, otherwise, you end up with strong fat thighs!

Thanks for the input. I know you can't spot reduce certain areas but I need to build muscle in those areas and need some target exercises to add to my pilates and (now) walking routine. The pilates program I do has segments for "buns and thighs," "arm and shoulder shaper," "total body workout," "waist slimmer," and "slim and sleek stretch." I've been doing it for a couple months and I can definitely tell a difference in my arms and waist.

I'm not saying I'm thinking about the thighmaster as a miracle cure for my thighs, just hoping for some toning assistance for that area to add to my regular routine. Like you, my thighs always have been and most likely always will be my problem area.

Thanks again!

I could not find a thigh master at the local dept. stores but I did find them in the pharmacy stores. I think I got mind from either Rite Aide or Wallgreens.
My problem area is my big fat arms. They take forever to tone and get smaller. Good Luck and call around before you go driving all over town. You know the price of as........stinks!

I work in an office 8 hrs out of the day. I have tried really hard to come up with little ways to exercise while at my desk. Then it hit me! I went to KMart and purchased the Thigh Toner (12.00) a replica of the thigh master. I now use it when I am just sitting at my desk working on different projects! It has actually become a habit and I don't even realize I'm doing it anymore. It's not been successful at "spot toning" my thighs but it has made them stronger and less jiggly! I hope it helps in building muscle in turn helping to burn fat!

Anyway, just thought I'd share!

Good idea. I'm going to root mine out and bring it to work too. Especially on Wed. I am bored to death. Thanks for the reminder of the thigh master. Did you measure your thighs before you started doing it at work to see if the thinned out any? Mine are pretty jigglie too. I'm finding the older I get and the more weight I lose my skin is starting to sag a little at my knee's. I guess I'm just getting OLD.
Well good luck on your journey. We're almost the same weight. When did you start phen.?
Have a great day !!

I just started phen 2 days ago, but already I can tell a difference in my activity level! I started w/ half a pill the first day and decided to try a whole pill yesterday! WOW I don't think I sit down the whole day!!! Way to much energy for me. I think I'm going to stick w/ half for now! I never thought about measuring my thighs first (the thought is actually scary) lol
