I would love to know if anyone has any suggestions for exercises that are low impact on my knees. I have a gazelle that I am using for 20 minutes every other day, but I seem to have hit a plateau and can't get past the 15 lbs that I have lost. Someone suggested that I change up my exercises so that my body doesn't get too used to one thing. That made sense to me, but because of the arthritis in my knees it makes it a little difficult to do a lot of the exercises that I see.

I would love any suggestions you may have. I also like the idea of having a lot of different things to do so that I don't get too bored with any of them!

Thanks for your help!

So what about an exercise bike?? That may help..do you work out at home or at a gym?

I work out at home. I'm from a small town and the nearest gym is 20 miles away. Not to mention not enough time to travel to and from with four kids at home. I have the Gazelle, and I really love it, but am wanting to find something to change it up with. Maybe a good video or series of exercises I could try that will help. Thanks!

I ordered the urban rebounder from HSN.com. If you are not familiar with it, it is the mini trampoline that comes with two workout DVD's. I love it , when you first use it it seems awkward but now I'm addicted. They have different workout levels also. It was 99.99 but you can break it up with three payments of 33.33. Hope this helps, contact me if you have any more questions if you are interested.

I found a dance video online called DanceX. It is sort of like aerobics, and sort of like dancing. I really like it, it gets you moving well, and can be adjusted to allow for bad knees. So if anyone out there is like me, you might want to try this one. I didn't think I could do something like this, but I really do like it and I got farther along the first time I did it than I thought I would be able to. It is pretty fun. And the cost was only about $25.00 with free shipping, so the price was very reasonable. I checked into the urban rebounder suggested, but was a little worried about all the negative reviews about it. I think I made a good decision going this route.

I also have arthritis and had knee replacement about 3 months ago. I have found that swimming is the best exercise, with the least impact.

You are right, swimming is great, and I used it all summer while our pool was opened up, but since the weather is changing, that option isn't there now. I am going to stick with my Gazelle, Wii EA Active, the Wave, and the Ab Circle Pro. I know, I know....too many things, but it keeps me from getting bored and also is a great way to keep doing the zig zagging on my exercise routine! I change almost daily what I am doing! And so far it is working great for me!
