Anyone here have any tips or sugguestions on excercises one can do for free when its raining out and you need to stay indoors. I have a treadmill, but like to call it a "dreadmill"

I do not have a mall in the city I work in that I could go to during the day so Im kinda stuck walking on the treadmill after work unless some of you know something I haven't thought off.

Thanks,

There are a few things I like to do here at home, most of them pretty inexpensive.

I have several dvd's that I like to use, like dancing. If your kids have a Wii, there are some great "games" like EA Active and Biggest Loser that are awesome for exercise. Regular jumping jacks and crunches and lunges are wonderful, also. I have the Gazelle, which is similar to the treadmill, but not motorized at all and I love the thing and use it all the time...living in the country and with typical midwestern weather, I can never know when I might not be able to be outside to walk, so I use the Gazelle because it is very low impact on my knees (arthritis) and it runs on my power, so once I paid the initial expense for it, nothing else is required other than my energy!

Get your little girl, turn on CMT or some type of music and dance dance dance....she will love it and you will get your work out!! lol!

I had not thought of this before, but do you by chance have like Dish Network or Direct Tv? They have a fit channel that offers lots of different kind of exercise programs from yoga to cardio and such...I have done a few of those also and some of them are pretty good and don't require anything but maybe hand weights or something, but you can replace hand weights with cans of soup if needed.

Just a thought!

I'm not sure if your local cable TV channel has free exercise stations but where I'm from we have comcast TV and they have free fitness TV as well as the FitTV. On the fitness TV (which is part of my On Demand package) There is a large variety of things to pick from but I like the walking videos... There is a one and two mile program. If you can try it. I've been using it at least 4 days a week and in just 2 months and 19 days I am down 31.6 pounds. Good luck!
