I've been taking this for 2 1/2 weeks and I've only lost 5lbs. I guess I had higher expectations. I'm only eating around 1000 calories a day, do you think I should up my calories?? I kinda feel tired now, when at first I was full of energy. My clothes fit better, but I'm not sure how long my Doc will prescibe these. She wants me down to 155lbs. Right now I'm at
183.

Hi Acie, 5 lbs in 2.5 weeks isn't THAT bad, since the ideal speed for
healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week; maybe 3 pounds.

I can still understand your disappointment, though, as many
people lose weight faster with Phentermine.

Do you drink alot of caffeine? That could be affecting the ability
of Phentermine to help you lose weight.

Concerning your calorie intake of 1000 per day, I guess it depends
on the types of food you're eating, and how often you eat.

Tell me as much as you can about your eating habits.

Congrats so far on 5lbs, though. Anything is good.

Are you getting any exercise?

I am on Phen, but still losing slower than I would like to. I have found though that excercise seems to make me lose much more.

exercise will definatly help it will make your body consume more calories and metabolize more fat quicker. 5IBS in 2 1/2 weeks is exactly on target, if this is indeed fat your loosing, it could be water or muscle which is a common occurance.
1000 a day normaly would be too low, but I do not know your height, and build.
if it is indeed to low then some of the weight would be from muscle and when you stop dieting. your maintenace level will be lower since you have less to maintain which is bad, weight training and cardio will help a great deal in counter this effect along with what I perviously said.

I'm eating fruit or melon in the AM, lean cuisene at noon, and a modest dinner in the evening. I do have to have a few beers once a week, (about 4). I haven't lost anything more but I haven't exercised since Friday. I'm stressin' out as we are in a drought and our farm is suffering, plus I didn't have any running water over the weekend because our well was not working properly. It's fixed now, but that's the last thing you need with a 6month old.

I beginning to think a 1000 calories is not enough, too. I'm 5'7" and 182lbs. I'd like to get to 178 or 179 by July 29th for my doc appt. Any advice???

for a 5'7" 1000 a day would be too low I would go for 1600, other wise your loosing muscle which will further hinder your efforts, to get there faster try weight lifting and cardio (running, swimming). GL

Thanks, I think that's too low also. I have been doing pilates and 35-45 min of step aerobics 5/times a week, and I'm not firming up like I usually do.
