Hi everyone...this is a first for me to try a group support. Everyone seems really nice and helpful..I am 5'5 273 pds. I have Type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance. Most of my weight is in the middle. My doc gave me adipex with my metformin to loose some initial weight. I lost 60 pds 5 years ago on it, but didnt maintain healthy eating habits. This time is for real, if it fails she said, gastric bypass was my other only hope. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and offer support in return....

Welcome to the group. When I started I weighed 248 and luckily I didn't get diabetes but I knew if I didn't do something about my weight I probably would have gotten it sooner or later. I did have numbness on the side of my leg. I had always had the tingling in my leg if I sat on my right side but then when I gained more weight my leg went totally numb on the right side. Since I've lost about 34 pounds I'm starting to get the feeling back in my leg. Good luck to you with losing your weight.

Welcome. I started trying to lose weight this time at the end of July. Started at 264. I am now at 248. I have to say that one of the reasons I am doing well, is because of this place and these people. If you are looking for caring and support you came to the right place.
