Hi, this is the best site I found that actually discusses the pros and cons of phentermine. I finally decided to start working out 2 years ago, but was not motivated at all to go to the gym...ever! Then when I started going, if I missed a day, then my routine was all over. I tried Metabolife and it was horrble. gave me terrible runs, made me jittery, and it didn't help give me the energy to work out it said it did.
Finally, I overheard a co-worker of mine discussing phentermine. I went online, researched it, and bought it right away. That was in May of 2005, when I weighed in at 173lbs( I'm 5'2), by mid-July, i weighed 150lbs. I stopped taking the pills because I went away for a few months but have managed to lose 10 lbs in the 2 1/2 months that I wasnt taking the pills.

Now, I want to lose the last 17lbs and recently received my order, 30 pills, 37.5mg, and in the last two days I feel so much better in terms of energy and my hunger pangs. While on the phen the first time, I was working out 4-5 days a week doing 90 minutes of cardio, drank TONS of water, and made sure to eat at least 3 times a day, even though i wasn't hungry, and I was NEVER hungry. I stayed away from caffeine, if I was going to drink alcohol that night I didn't take a pill just in case, adn it ahs worked great for me.

LOOONG POST! But, I love that i found one thats not false reports, people show the good and the bad. Hopefully, i can lose at least 10 of these 17 lbs in the month adn then just continue to maintain my weight by working out 3-4 days a week, eating healthy food like I have been, and not having to take the pills everyother day, or every 3 days, or at all!

Welcome!
Yes, I agree this site is very open and honest. I've not seen any bull so far. I love it!
17 lbs isn't much to go, most of us have a greater journey, but your progress will be exciting nonetheless.
You will find a lot of support here, make sure you start a journal, it keeps you on track.
Take care and good luck!

Yes, well 17 is great, I'm proud of the fact that I already lost the first 33, and wish I found this forum alot sooner. My major problem is my stomach, my waist is 37 inches, very unhealthy, and my hips are 40. When I started my hips were 45 and waist was 40. For whatever reason, I've lost 33 lbs, but few inches off waist and thighs. So even with those pounds lost, I have a greater journey to go. Not only is the size of my waist very unhealthy for my body, but it's the only thing keeping me away from being able to wear my size 8 jeans without bulging.

A friend of mine who is larger says I seem shallow and insensitive when I talk about my weight, especially since I am less than half her weight, but its not just about the number. I want to look fit, I don't want my thighs to bulge, I want my stomach to go away, and at this point, the scale could stay at 140 as long as I can get some inches off my waist, hips, and thighs.

Thank you for welcoming me, and I will do a journal here and weekly weigh in to help motivate me more, and so that the people who want to lose around 50 lbs can see that it is reachable!!

Oh yes, your 33 lbs did not go unnoticed, that is a great thing!
I hope that you attain your goal and get into your jeans!
That is actually the size that I'd like to be when I'm done with all this.
My waist is a 34 and my hips are out there at 44, so imagine that. I hate it!
I always have to have my pants altered because of the big difference.
Well, your friend should understand that it really IS more than just a number, everyone knows what size or weight they feel and look best at, yes being healthy is important and if for you it is just 17 more pounds and maybe for her it is more, regardless, it is relevant. She would know what you mean if and when she decides herself to shed her excess.
If you lost the first 33, I am sure you can do it again for the last 17! Great going!

Welcome and congratulations on your weightloss so far. When I started this, I needed to lose 129 pounds. I still need to lose over 100, but I'm getting there. For many women who are this much overweight, it is easier to say that you are shallow than it is to say you are strong and commited and I wish I could be like you. I've been there and I've used that before myself. You are not shallow for wanting to be healthy and comfortable with yourself. I'm proud of you for making the commitment, but I also ask that you try not to be mad at her for it. It's very painful to be sooo big and sometimes its just too hard to face the reality. Just hope that someday she will care enough about herself to look in the mirror and face her true self. When she does, she's really going to need someone to care.
