hello,

i just happened to find this site today and boy am i glad. i have been on phentermine for a while now. i have always done fine with it. i have lost about oh, 45 or 50 pounds so far. i was getting really overweight. i am one of those people who has trouble losing weight on her own. for christmas last year i asked everybody in my family for money so i could go to one of those diet doctor programs. it is really expensive, but it worked for me so it was totally worth it. i only need to lose maybe 15 lbs or so now. but even though i am still taking the phentermine, i am losing very little if any weight at all. i do walk every day and i am doing some exercises for my arms and abs at home. i dont see the diet dr anymore. he is way too expensive. i got a prescription from my own doctor.

i was just wondering though. has anyone experienced hair loss from this medicine? i don't see that listed as a side effect, but i have been losing a huge amount of hair. in the shower, in my brush, oh my God a lot in my brush. i am 44 years old, and have had a shedding episode before, which coincidentally was the same time i was on a diet with phentermine. that was about five years ago. and if it is caused by the medicine, when i stop will my hair stop shedding? it did before, but i still don't know if that was the cause. last time i was under a great deal of stress. a lot of stress. this time i am okay.

well, let me know. and good luck to everybody.

I think that is one of the side effects. I saw it on another posting a few months ago. I think you might be in need of a vitamin so I would ask your doctor. I think it will stop just ask if you have any other deficiencies causing the hair loss.

That question did come up before and if I remember correctly, Ian said that it is related to lack of protein in your diet. You need to make sure that at least 30% of your calories are coming from proteins. If you have problems monitoring that, check out fitday.com It's a free program that will help you plan your food to get the right nutritional balance. You can also monitoring your calorie burning and weight loss.
