I know I am suppose to be drinking a ton of water. But am I drinking too much? I am usually drinking about 10 or more bottles a day because I have dry mouth. There are some days that I just can't get enough of it. Plus I was expecting to have lost more than 5.5 pounds in 2 weeks. I do eat between 1000 and 1300 calories a day. Thanks!

Hi, I am not sure if this is right for you b/c remember everyone's body is different. I will not say you can never drink too much water. I drink almost a gallon of water a day and have lost 30 lbs. in 2 months. That does not mean that the 10 bottles you drink are not too much for you. That is just my experience. Are you doing any exercise/activity?

Hi! It took me a couple of months to really see results and if you build any muscle it weighs more than fat so you may feel like you are not seeing any results.i know about the water but I do know phentermine does have a side affect that can cause dry mouth which could cause you feel the need for water. That is about all i drink on daily basis.

I get my phentermine from a doctor, who really pushes the water aspect. He told me you are supposed to divide your weight in half, and that is how many ounces of water you are supposed to drink in one day. Too much water can in fact be bad for you and knock your electrolytes out of whack (causing heart probs). I hope this helps.

Toya - I do about 40 minutes of aerobic exercise at least 4 times a week (I DVR both of Denise Austin's shows on Lifetime) and usually walk for 30-35 minutes 2 times a week. Plus, I try to walk/jog 20 minutes in the pool a couple of times a week. I am going to start adding weight training when I get back from my cruise on June 19th.

TinaFay - Thanks! I usually only drink water all day but sometimes I do have a Diet Caffeine Free Coke. But that is very rare.

Yeah, I know about the weight/2 for ounces of water. So, Tina, for you that would be about 100 oz. of water. That's a lot but it's pretty basic for your weight. Although my weight is 192 and divided by 2 would make it only 96 oz. of water, but b/c I work out so much, I need more. I walk/jog about 5 miles a day and do a workout video for another 45 mins. a day. So, yeah, I think I need about a gallon.

KristineJ - Thanks for the info. I thought I had heard something before about drinking half your weight in ounces of water. I'm have been trying to reduce the amount of water I have been drinking over the last couple of days. I guess I'm just going to have to chew more gum to help out with the dry mouth!

Redsmom, you are doing a lot of good exercise. I am not sure what the problem is. 5.5 lbs is healthy for two weeks. According to the experts, 2 lbs. a week is what you are looking to lose to remain safe. I know you want better results faster I know I did.
