alright, so i am pretty sure i have read everything one can on phentermine but i would really like to know from the actual people who are taking it. And please dont be offended by me asking or ashamed to answer. Is anyone here addicted to phentermine? Also i have read that it can cause depression while your on it but it also makes sense to be depressed when you come off it as a result of not only your tolerance to it but the fact that your brain has stopped normally producing the neurotransmitters it use to even if it was a low production to begin with. That sounds very very much like what happens in the brain with so many other drugs like heroin which causes physical addiction and from what i heard people gain significant amount of wait after rehabilitating themselves. Ive read here before i joined some comments from people who have been dieting, battling weight, or taking phentermine for quit a long time and it seems fishy though i do not argue that you sincerely believe you have benefited. Ok all i really want to know is if anyone has experienced depression after taking phentermine whether they finished and reached their goals or there on their way. I know people wont want to answer if they truly believe this is what it takes to loose weight. People dont want to hear that their miracle pill is not safe and because of how rich people are becoming due to the sells the corrupt system probably wont ever ban it even if something really was wrong with it but look how they put poison in our food, sodium nitrite? anyway another thing, isnt it much like an amphetamine? Like adderall for instance, i hope to find a site for people who take adderall so i can ask some questions but i probably wont so anyway adderall from what i have read does pretty much the same thing and its stronger too right? well i wonder whats going to happen to them. I know many SKINNY, STARVING people who cant go a day without their ADD meds. Please be informative I NEED TO KNOW what you are willing to tell me. i'm doing this for my mom and i dont want to loose her if all she needs is to get off her butt and come to the gym with me. We all dont have to conform and that is my belief. I dont mean to phentermine i mean to everything! they way society is, eating habits, chemically enhanced food Everywhere. Nature gave us all we need and were loosing nature to pollution and corruption so while were here , especially if you claim to be religious! gluttony is wrong and you body is your temple believe in yourself and have faith in whatever but true faith is all you need to believe in yourself and you can run a marathon and eat what you need only and you will be Extremely happy. You'll have a clear mind. I believe bad food also poisons the mind and thats aside from studies that state bad eating habits are linked to depression. Well please let me know and take care. Peace and love people! -Samantha

I would just like to say, after reading all of that you just wrote, that ...
Phentermine IS NOT a miracle pill. ANd should NOT be used as such. It is to be used as a means to jumpstart weight loss. The pill itself DOES NOT make you lose weight. It helps to control your appetite, while YOU learn to take better care of yourself. Meaning, that while on Phentermine, you should learn how to eat better, and learn how to workout to get to your desired point.
You may think that this should come naturally to everyone, and to a certain degree you would be right. However, there are those of us that have learned to not do the right things to take care of ourselves, and that's what we are trying to learn. We just needed the extra help to get us there.
I have been on the Phentermine, and come off of it. I never experienced any depression that I can remember. The only depression i had was before starting it and learing how to better take care of myself. It's not always so easy to "get off our butts and go to the gym" as you say. Depending on how out of shape your mother is, she may not be comfortable w/ that right now anyway. I think if she is thinking about trying Phentermine, she should talk to her Doctor about it regardless. Especially if she is taking ANY other medications.
I do happen to be a religious person, and I'm sorry I don't consier myself a glutton! I use to consider myself just a plain old lazy person. So I think the next time you come in ready to catorgorize people, you should know a bit more about them first. I"m not the type of person that angers over a post easily, but I think this time you hit a few to many nerves w/ assumptions, and remarks you seemingly didn't consider before posting. If I read wrong and came to wrong conclusions then I will apologize, but right now I don't feel that I did.
But hey, thanks for posting, you let other people see how misguided the thoughts are on Phentermine, and weight loss from someone who doesn't use it.

Ok thanks sweetie! In fact phentermine not being a miracle pill was my very well made point. I do not want my mother taking man made ingredients like this. I am 500% healthy because i havnt taken not even Tylenol since i was seventeen. I will be twenty soon. I just dont believe in it. I am not religious but I know mother nature has given us all we ever needed and man is making us think we need more food, more drugs, more money, more cars etc…which related to obesity becoming an epidemic. when really absolutely need to stay away from anything that comes from a lab. Honestly i know its bad this is just away of confirming it for my mom. I am dating a doctor who informs me alot but unfortunately my mom thinks it will help her kick start a diet too and i say if you want to loose weight for the better of you health do not ingest chemicals. You know there are no long term scientific studies on this controlled substance right? What i meant i dont want her to die becuase of it, become dependent because of it, depressed or any more un healthy because of it. I figured their has to be one person who has taken it, cares and can be informative. I am self proclaimed humanitarian. My mother is ignorant to some things but she is still my mother. we are different and like you have different beliefs. I didnt just come ready to say what i felt. I came to say what i know and i aimed my questions to what i have read over a month of reading what sort of questions and concerns you all have had. You shouldnt be mad because there are worse things going on in this world and to know that i can make you mad gives me hope that maybe people will get mad at the bigger causes but really its not healthy you should welcome opposite opinions and i do not apologize for my beliefs for i say what i say to help people. I have no other intentions i just happen to care about human beings and this world and it doesnt look like were doing to good so i dont plan on sugar coating anything its 2006 its time to wake up although if you think i said something out of place I do apologize. and its not just this. if i know anyone with a problem its my characteristic inclination to research and see how i can help. some people dont like to know or dont know what questions to ask and i happen to have a love affair with facts and opinions and i use them the best i can. Peace and love-
I hope you can make sense of what I wrote because I didn’t revise it.
And still how about anyone else who can share their history? It is much appreciated. - Samantha

oh sorry i just got something. I meant here as in here on the planet and i am speaking in general. Dont you see how one reference point can actually be applied to many different things. One i was trying to express a feeling and point. I said no lie and i didnt direct it to anyone. I say those things about all people all the time. They are practically the three sins i believe in! People wating in line at mcdonalds to me represent everything that is wrong with the world and their weight is only portion of it but i will not dare to leave it out. you cant say you care if you only care sometimes when it comes up, when its in the news, when something personal has happend if you care you care and you care about everything and i care about this world and alot of things factor in especially in regards to people and humanity. Imagine if no one would say anything negative about those pills here would you really not question it through an outside source. you would but you would be scared to speak up if you are a coward who doesnt want to believe there could be something wrong with whats helping them lose weight but if you care like ive heard some people here do by their posts then they will speak up! if they are offended for somereason their reply will be aimed toward me in particular but either way it adds to my study of understanding how the people think. would you still be offended if i were taking the pills too and just wanted to know or would you still be offended if i was overweight and was considering taking the pills and just wanted to know before taking them? I know what i know but alittle extra words of you all for my mother is what i wanted. You know what i get so much crap for being vegan like i am a weirdo. i dont know why but i do like its wrong! someone even suggested it'd be unhealthy for me. In the world today sweety I am the outcast looked wrongfully upon so spare me and yes listen to someone who isn’t on it. Why not? I am not singing a song from a genre of music you don’t like. NONONO what is unhealthy for the world are a bunch of corrupt rich people controlling people in many ways and food is one and after they fatten them up we know how much money people invest in weight loss. well laterz peeps

Why is man-made so bad? Man makes these things with resources and materials given to us by mother nature (or God if you're religious).
If your mother was diabetic, would you not want her to take insulin because it's man made? Not want her to take chemo for cancer, because it's man made.
I'm sorry, but at 20 years old everyone thinks they know it all. You don't know jack at that age. 10 years from now you'll look back and realize how "young and dumb" you were. Please encourage your mother to see her doctor and take his advice regarding her weight and health issues. Maybe a combination of medication and a referral to a nutritionist is right for her.

I think I see what she means. I am considering taking phentermine myself but i just worry becuase i have not found any answers to long term affects. I believe in god, doctors, medicine and i also believe also that somethings man made are just harmful and that what i want to avoid. I respond to this becuase my son shares many of those beleifs he is a vegetarian and him and all of his friends are the healthiest and smartest young people i know but even though some people are infact corrupt in our government its not that i dont want to know the truth in fact i am very into whats happening in the world and i now alot of things man made can be alright. you have a very good point and you made me think but you should aim to be heard by higher sources becuase if you voice you opinion in a happy forum where everyone is taking this man made drug then you really wont be heard its the sad truth my dear and you are right if it is really bad preety soon we will all have the misfortune of finding that out the hard way but either way it is our choice but thanks for caring i myself am not exactly a typical american wating inline at mcdonalds i just had a kid at an older age and i have never been thin. thanks for your post becuase i have been here and to many other phentermine websites waiting to hear something that didnt sound good and even though you didnt get your answer you did ask the right questions. we are depending on the younger generation to help change the world but it wont happen here in this forum i dont think so. take care and god bless

HI!
First off I want to highly commend you Samantha_1 for being outspoken and expressing your love and concern for your mother. I raised my children to always gather their facts, study and have and develop their own opinion whatever it was; Politics, Religion, Health Issues, etc. But, also taught them to think before you speak, because utter words are never forgotten and it's all how you express an issue with tone and attitude. I'm impressed how you have taken the time to search and study the medication Phentermine.
If you feel strongly negative about Phentermine or any other supplement that is perfectly fine because that's your opinion.
I would suggest that you encourage your mother to seek a good GYN first to get a complete physcial. Maybe, all she needs is thyroid medication. I know that I have an underactive thyroid and it has contributed to alot of my weight gain and other health issues. Plus, go with your mother and talk to her physician and express your concerns for her.
Also, at any age we need POSITIVE FEEDBACK and POSITIVE STROKES.........WARM FUZZIES!!!! Support your mother and continue expressing your love for her. When she decides on a health program give her all those WARM FUZZIES because trying to lose weight is extremely difficult. Maybe you don't have a weight problem at age 20, I know I didn't. But, maybe you have something you want to better yourself with and both of you can work on your own battles together.
I just want to say, I have taken Phentermine but, it was under the care of a physician and he monitored my vitals and put me on an excellent food plan along with exercise. I was sucessful because of my family's support, and because I followed the physician counsel religionously.
Alot has happen in my life since I've seen this Physician last April 2003. It's just the trials and heartaches of life that everyone has to go through and I have not put my health first and not doing so I have put on alot of weight. As of yet, I have not gone back to this physician nor have I purchased any phentermine. But, I pop into this sight and love reading the posts a  nd I understand how they feel about struggling with their weight. Please continue posting your feelings and insights, but remember support all of us who are battling our weight by giving us WARM FUZZIES.

I believe I all ready posted an apology in the case of me stepping on toes. I guess that part was missed so I say it again.
I do respect your opinion, but it's just that. An opinion. I have one as well as everyone else here.
Also, unless you live in a cave and rely ONLY on the earth for everything, you too are using something man made everyday. That's a part of life now.
You're 20 years old, don't even take Tylenol, and if that's what works for you, I hope it continues to. But your mother may not be like that. She know's her body and her mind better than you. That's allI was trying to say before. If she feels she needs help, don't express negetivity toward her for it. That could only make things worse for her. Losing weight, w/ or w/o Phentermine, is a big, HARD step for someone. It's very hard to do, and unless you've been there, you can't fully understand it.
I never said I felt you were attacking any one certain person. I felt like you were/are looking down on people who do need extra help. Yes, I went to my doctor for help, yes he put me on Phentermine, but God gave him the brains to know that I needed help, and therefor I took advantage of that. I"m not ashamed to admit I needed help. WE all need it for something some time.
You asked for opinions, and I gave mine. It's no where near what you believe or feel, but it's still mine. I still think it. If a person needs help, no matter what the situation is, I'm proud of them for admitting it, and seeking it out. You've done research on Phentermine right? Have you found ANYTHING that mentions dependancy or addiction or depression linked with it? I'm not saying it's not there, but if you are certain it is, I would like to know where. Maybe it would change some minds about it. Then again it may not, but it doesn't hurt to have all the facts. So if you have found proof of these things happening, please post them. Links or whatever. Because, believe it or not, I research things I take too. I don't take things that I think aren't meant for me to be taking. My doctor know's this, and know's why, and agree's. So if there's something out there I don't know about it, relating to the things you asked about, let us know.
Please.
