Honestly Marie it gets easier to sleep after a day or two. But in the meantime there are lots of suggestions that might help...
*Take the pill earlier in the day if at all possible, as in crawl out of bed and take the pill before you do anything else.
*Also, if you're using any caffeine at all, get rid of all of it NOW. In addition to pushing the phen thru your system faster as I understand it, it also revs you way the heck up there and it's hard to come down.
*Finish your
water earlier in the day. Get thru half a gallon before lunch, stop drinking it at minimum 2 hours before you go to bed.
*Take a warm bath about an hour before you want to hit the sheets. As your body temperature goes down it helps you drift off... just like happens overnight during regular ol' sleep.
*Change the sheets, clean up any clutter in the bedroom, and make your bedroom a restful place for you. Oh, and in case you've never had any trouble with sleep before this one is a general golden rule for insomniacs (one of my daily issues): the bed is only for 2 things... sleep and sex. So no tv, no reading, no nothing.
*If you do find yourself awake for long periods of time and you're getting frustrated, just get up and change rooms and do something quiet. I like to read for a little in my living room on sleepless nights or even do sudoku puzzles. Then every 30 minutes or so I go back to bed to see if I can sleep. Usually it works for me after a time or two... when it doesn't I get a lot of reading done. LOL
Good luck. I promise it'll get easier to sleep soon. And welcome!
