Hi,
Does anyone out there take this combo of medication????
I just got back from my dr. appt and boy was I suprised when she not only was willing to give me the phentermine, but wants me to use it in conjunction with Metformin. I showed to be nearly 40 lbs. overweight and my body fat reading was 58% yuk. She thinks I may be insulin resistant so she did a whol bunch of blood tests, plus took an ekg, and urine and blood pressure. I get my phentermine (37.5) from her and the Metformin is an RX. I am not sure why I don't get the phentermine from her. I started to ask but then I forgot. I have to go every week for the first month and then can wean down to once per month.

Any thoughts or experiences out there would be greatly appreciated!

I meant to say that I don't understand WHY I get my phentermine from her as opposed to an RX. Probably to keep me coming back, which can be a good thing as I will be monitored.
She told me to expect the sleeplessness and anxiety the first couple of days but then it would pass.

Dear morninglory. No I don't drink at all but my sister does and we are doing the same treatment. Our dr. told her it was O.K. for her to drink on the week-ends just don't over do it. petty_44

Thanks for answering. I think I've pretty much decided not to take the Metforim unless my blood results come back that I am truly insulin resistant. Otherwise, I'd like to try just the phentermine along with my regluar thyroid meds to see if that alone will help me.
