I definitely understand that question! I will make this a sticky thread that will stay put.

This used to be a site that recommended phentermine and offered many options to buy.(NOT the Fen-phen that was dangerous and taken off the market several years ago.) Up until January 7, 2007, it was legal to buy and sell this diet product online, even without a doctor's prescription. So-called online doctors supposedly approved you or not. I don't think there were any doctors who had any dealings at all with these online sites.

Sites popped up world-wide and most outside of the U.S. were doing any type thing to get $ from people from lying to using folks' credit card numbers to buy airline tickets! If you order came from outside the U.S., there were no resrictions on pill packaging or any assurances people were actually receiving what they ordered.

This same type thing was happening to all the controlled drugs folks would order. There are legitimate sites but they do not sell phentermine because the neighborhood pharmacist could provide them for only a few greenbacks rather than hundreds of dollars. And there must be a paper prescription. No faxing accepted anymore.

The FDA and DEA demands for quality and pill ingredients were almost impossible to police so they made that sort of trafficking a felony, not only for the seller online but also for the purchaser. There were people dying from allergic reactions to some counterfeit drug they had received instead of what they had ordered, heart attacks, etc. And the very worst offenders were our teenagers.

The lure was to set up an online site, sell whatever you could get your hands on or to order anything that would cause weight loss or a high. People were desperate to get generic drugs and to stock up when news leaked out through the doctor's and pharmacist's practices and there was a huge rush to get as much phentermine as possible as soon as possible.

Most of us know the drug in its U.S. standardized form is safe with precautions taken and felt as if we were being looted when it became illegal. But we understood. Even now, doctors or pharmacists are unable to take or receive phone requests. It is a requirement that you have a written script from your own doctor and even then it is verified.

Ian decided to leave most of the original threads here so we could go back and read up in the archives. Our "Weight Loss Support" thread used to be called "Phentermine Support"!He has changed so many links but it is a gigantic effort to change all and even then, Google will sponsor sites that say they will sell it.

Hoodia has been suggested here as has Phentramin, a legal substitute that does not require a prescription. The Hoodia I tried didn't help me, but I have bought some Phentramin and will try a week's worth within the next 2 weeks and report on it ASAP.

It does seem so unfair.

I get a legal prescription from my doctor. but it seems like one pill isn't strong enough to even get you motivated to even work out. It will curb your appiette though, so I guess that is good. Is there any bad side effects about this drug? Does anyone know?

T.J.! What is your prescription for? Is it phentermine? PIll or capsule? There are several 'tricks' to help it help you. Take it 1 hour before breakfast...that sort of thing. PM me if you need any ideas so I can be sure to see your posts!

Please let me know how your Phentramin works for you compared to Phentermine. I finally got to my weight loss goal last year and even though I exercise regularly and eat right, I always end up putting a few pounds back on. It's become very helpful to keep a supply of Phen to use every couple of months as weight control. Thank you.

Now that I reached goal, it is truly unfair of me of me to rate the products because I have lost that drive I had at the beginning, which is so vital to make the 'losing' engine run full speed ahead! BUT:

If I were to grade on a Bell's Curve, which we ALL know is really not fair but sometimes is needed for comparison's sake,
Phentermine....A+

Phentramin...B- / C+

Hoodia........F

I use to be on phentermine. I just recently stop taking it, I want purchase it again but I am coming across some difficulties. I do not have a prescription for it. I want to try phentramin but I am not sure. I know that phentermine is the best, but does anyone out there know if phentramin can at least help me loose 20 pounds or at least help me stay away from going back to the 200 pound mark.

Dear Chrisy, it is SO hard to tell what will work for different folks. I heard great reviews about Hoodia, but had no help from it at all and I supposedly took the REAL Hoodia.
Phentramin is like ALL the diet drugs, including phentermine, in that you cannot just take a pill and lose weight. What it does may be to hasten your metabolism and might give you extra energy that way or it may help you have a small but perceptible measure of control over your eating habits.
I remember when I was on my weight loss diet and the day I began, May 22, 2006, I knew that I knew that I knew this time would be my LAST diet ever. Seems there must be lots of spokes in the wheel to make it roll; know what I mean? Many combined factors..
I hope you'll find the info you seek online here. One site that also reviews Phentramin is skinnyondiets.com. Stick around and keep reading and MOVE AWAY FROM THAT COOKIE.

I had a friend that lost a lot of weight on Phentermine. I want to try it. You have to have a prescription, right? I am 53, on medication for high blood pressure, while is well-controlled, have Type II diabetes. There seems to be a contraindication if you have high blood pressure. Have you talked or posted with others that are being treated for HBP? Are they doing okay on it? I weight 172. I would like to weigh 145.
