I tooke lexapro for a couple of years but switched to celexa for insurance reasons...I have been on phen for about 3 weeks. I asked the same question when I first started. From what I understand...there is no true evidence that it is unsafe. There have actually been studies that show they work together in aiding weight loss.

From what I understand...the lexapro or celexa helps the phen work longer. I take my phen in the a.m. and celexa right before bed...that way they are wearing off before I take the other pill.

I haven't had any odd side affects at all. Hope this helps!

Hi i was on them both for a period of time and i had no issues. im sure that if your doctor put you on them that there is little to worry about, but with everything theres always something that could cause an issue. if your worried maybe call your doc and ask her if shes aware that your now on both. i know my doc can be foregetful..

All should be fine. Lexapro is in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression, anxiety, behavior disorders, etc.

Please just stay aware of something called "Seratonin Syndrome" and phone your doctor, nurse or pharmacist with any questions or weird sensations.
