My name is Michelle, I am 39 years old. I googled and found you all. I am mom to three, and put on a SERIOUS amount of weight after the death of my 3 yr old son in 2000. I stepped on a scale a few weeks ago and was shocked to see 311 pounds. Shouldn't have been all that surprised, I was drinking 6-10 Pepsis a day, not excercising at ALL, and a sedate office working slacker
I started to make some changes. Am down to 2-3 pepsis a day, and also am trying to make one of those a diet pepsi, which I dont much care for. I joined Curves last week, and went 4x. Started monitoring my calories and lifestyle on the free website fitday.com which is REALLY helping. And yesterday I started Phentermine. My Doc is adamant that I can have it for 3 months TOPS, she made me have an echocradiogram, bloodwork, stress tests, etc. But she belives in me, and tells me this is just a STARTING point. So here I am. I am drinking water like a crazy person, watching my diet (I really dont eat much, it was the SODA) and trying this medicine. I am down to 305 today. I was STUNNED at this drugs effectiveness, I literally had to remind myself to eat yesterday. I am reading and trying to learn from you guys. Thanks for being here.

Hey Mechelle- Welcome to Phenforum. Here's my 2cents...You need to eliminate the Pepsi COMPLETELY and ONLY drink water. If you did NOTHING else you'd lose weight.

Hi, Mechelle! Welcome to PhenForum! I am so sorry to know about what you went through in losing your child; nothing could be harder. You have turned a corner in your life, Girl, and when that '305' pounds is gone this time, tou will never see that again!

Hi Michelle, You could not have found a better place for support. I am so sorry for your loss. If possible, I would definitely get rid of the pepsi. For me, it was so hard to give up sodas and occasionally I still have tea when I am out to eat but I really try to push the water. Honestly, you can not get enough water. I would try to eat 5-6 small meals intead of 3 big ones. The main thing you dont want to do is not eat because then your body will kick into starvation mode and you won't lose. Just try to keep exercising, drink lots of water and make sure you are eating.
