It sounds trite but, its a fact, this is new for me. I've tried everything for 20 years and thanks to a doctor, I got started on Phentermine. I don't take any other prescription drugs, in fact, I'm very anti-drug, but I am so tired of not losing weight any other way. The first few days, the side effects were stronger than the assets of phen, but I made it through. What it has done for me is that I am no longer obsessed with food, that part of my brain has clicked off. I feel fortunate that my food plan for the past 10 years has been a good one. But, I had issues with binges lasting for periods of time and trigger foods.

I have a couple of questions I hope someone can answer and I'm not sure which subject chat to put it under so I'll ask it here - I was reading in a thread that some people were not consuming dairy products, is this something you're not supposed to have on Phen? I eat only yogurt and eggs as far as dairy.

Some of you are drinking wine?? I know it adds calories but I thought there was a drug interaction issue with alcohol and phen. Please enlighten me.

I am not very computer literate but I hope to learn how to use this. I would like to become a motivator.

Welcome Anne!

I do eat dairy, I have cereal about 4 mornings a week. So I use 2% milk. I don't eat many eggs. As far as the wine goes, I can't help on that one, because, I have never been much of a drinker! I tend to think I would stay away from it though if I were taking phen.

How much weight are you trying to loose? If you need help with setting up a ticker let us know....

Best of luck...

Laurie

I guess things are in moderation. I eat Lowfat Yogurt ,bean sprouts and put grapenuts on it. I eat cereal and milk and I love oatmeal. Oatmeal is good at making you feel full and satisfied.
Since your starting your diet with Phentermine for the first time I would stay away from the wine.
Get used to the Phen.
Susan posts alot of lists of foods that are good. I'm sure that she will be giving you things you can eat.

Good luck

Hi, Anne, and welcome to The Club! You have made the #1 choice..you have made SEVERAL, in fact! You are a new member of the Weight Loss Club, you have access to all the tools you will need here on PhenForum, you are seeing a doctor; you struggled through the 1st few days, questioned some ideas about wine and dairy and have put yourself right 'out there' by wanting to be a motivator!!

As for the wine, I am not regular drinker though I do on occasion and think even 2 ounces of a red wine, daily, is good for you and would hardly touch your calorie log! Several medications are no-no with any alcohol at all. It's unfortunate, but the truth is most people do not have 2 ounces of wine~more like 6, 12 or 18 ounces.

Remember that what you read are mostly people's experiences or trials with certain diets. I am a HUGE proponent of all things in moderation.( that provide sound nutrition) Dairy is GREAT for you. I drink skim milk, eat no-fat cottage cheese, low-fat mozzarella cheese sticks, fat-free yogurt with probiotics, sugar-free ice cream even- every now and again, but only a small scoop.

I have even made a cheesecake with fat-free cream cheese. Just for the calcium, it's a good food, and dairy products are loaded with nutritious benefits.

I also eat eggs, nuts, beans, whole grains, almost every available vegetable and include fruits on my daily diet. Tuna, fish, lean meats are all good. I suggest small quantities of proteins and huge amounts of vegetables, eaten at 2-3 hour intervals, several times a day.

YOU ARE GOING TO BE SUCCESSFUL ON THIS!!
