So I just signed up to this website. I've really enjoyed browsing through it the past few days and reading everything so I figured I'd join y'all!
Here's a short history of my story...
I'm 23 and will be 24 in feb. About a 15 months ago I went to the doctor cause I gained 10 pounds and I was worried about it. So she put me on Lexapro... well that just made matters worse. I gained about 40 pounds in a year! I just got married last Feb. and my hubby is probably thinking.. what did he get himself into!! Anyway~ I got online and realized it was the Lexapro that made me gain the weight. I "weened" myself off of it and have been completely off of it for about 2 and a half months now. I went to a NEW doctor 2 weeks ago to express my concern of this dramatic weight gain. She instantly said she thought Phentermine would be perfect for me.. so here I am today.
I started Phen Last Wednesday 11/28 @ 175lbs. Today I am @ 168. I have only been eating when my stomach is making noises.. and going on long walks with the hubby and our dog.
Feb 24, 2008 will be our 1 year wedding anniversary and I really hope I can get down to 130 by then... I don't know how fast Phen helps you lose weight?! Is this a realistic goal or am I setting myself up for failure?
Oh and the hardest part of this all.. is I miss my WINE!

Hi and

You do not know, how lucky you are, to find such a awesome site as this. There are lots of really nice ppl on here to help motivate everyone in weightloss and give advice on things.

You should start a journal, it is in the weightloss journal section. Especially if you are going to stick around.

Welcome, Kiddo, and congratulations for having lost so much already!! Here are some "AT LEASTS" to get you started:
1. Eat at least 1,000 calories a day. If you do not, your body will lower your metabolism and slow your loss. Be patient and it will pay off in consistent weight loss, more energy and fewer cravings.

2. At least, eat a good mix of nutrients. Fats and proteins are slower to digest than carbs. Carbs digest in two hs, protein takes four hours and fat takes up to six hours, which explains why people on low-carb diets have less hunger than those on low-fat diets. Counting nutrients in addition to calories pays off in better hunger control.
3. Eat at least 4 times a day, and 5-6 is better.

4. Drink at least 100 ounces of pure water daily.

5. Do at least 2-3 minutes of exercising daily even when you cannot find time. Normally, one sgould do more.

6. Continue to read and post here every day! Write down every single bite, too.
