dusty...first of all, welcome!! Hopefully I will be able to answer your questions...
Talking to your dr about taking
phentermine is easy...but not all drs are willing to prescribe it. Sometimes people have to go to
weight loss clinics or bariatric surgeons to find someone that is willing to prescribe it. Luckily I have a regular family physician who prescribes mine, but not always that easy for everyone. And yes, you do have to have a prescription to purchase phentermine. It is illegal to purchase or sell it other than through a written drs prescription. Most of the websites you may see are either fakes or not really phentermine, but a different med that is similar.
Side effects can differ from person to person. Most common are dry mouth, occasional jittery feeling (somewhat like a caffeine buzz), decreased appetite, increased energy, and sweating. These are the more common side effects but there are others that are more serious, and are why you must be under a drs care while taking phentermine. Some of the worst are increased heart rate and increased blood pressure and dizziness. Some of these side effects can be gotten rid of by adjusting the dosage of your phen.
Phentermine is one half of the old Fen-Phen that caused so many problems. Phentermine is the part of the combination of drugs that did not cause the problems, though, but because of the bad publicity in the past, that is why some drs are unwilling to prescribe it because they are not up to date on the difference.
Phentermine is a tool that helps you control your appetite, has metabolism boosters, and energy boosters. While it works well, it does not work alone...you must still limit your calories, drink plenty of
water, and exercise 3-5 days a week for the best results. It is not a magic pill, you will still need to put the effort in also.
I hope this answers all your questions. Good luck to you!!!
