I am new at this, I just started taking Phen 3 days ago, and Ive lost 4 pounds! Im happy about that but I have a few questions! ANYONE, please help me.
1. Why do I have a recurring headache? Does it go away later? Can I take anything?
2. On day 3, I became hungry every 2 or 3 hours. I drink boatloads of water. I also ran like 1 mile today. So, any advice? Is this the speedy metabolism thing or is this stuff not working?
3. what is average weight loss with this stuff?
Thats it! Anyone?? PLEASE!

Hi and CONGRATS on such a great start! I am going to copy your post in the MEET and GREET section, too, so others will find you easier.
The headache and cotton mouth are very common. Most like to start on 1/2 the tab or the 30 mg every other day for the first few days just to give themselves a chance to get used to it. Take it EARLY so you will be able to relax to sleep later. The headache shouldn't last but a few days~
A good goal to keep hunger away is to eat 6x a day,and try to get in these food nutrients:
6, 1/2 c. servings different vegetables, no sauces
3, 1/2 c servings different berries
2,1/2 c servings different meats, poultry, fish
2, 1/4 c servings different nuts.
Start counting your calories and split them up into 6 mini-meals a day, 225 calories at a time. Eat some form of protein EACH time you eat. (fat- free cottage cheese with a few packets of Equal, no-fat yogurt with a tsp of sliced almonds, glass of skim milk, golf ball size handful of nuts, beans, chicken, turkey, beef, pork, tuna,
fat-free weenie(mine have 40 cal. each) dipped in mustard..
.yum.Eat only whole grains and complex carbs. Kashi Go Lean Crunch is
my favorite
for breakfast-7 whole grains-delicious! Eat breakfast every day as
soon as you can because it jumpstarts your engine to burn calories.Don't
even think of wasting 1 calorie on soft drinks, white rice, white bread,
sweets, cakes,
cookies, fries, white potatoes..Eat big salads made with Romaine lettuce,
tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, chopped up 1/4capple,
sweet bell peppers, broccoli slaw and keep it ready at all times to eat with fat-free
salad dressing. A neat trick is to dip your fork in the dressing first then take a bite
of salad. You can really stretch it out that way and consume far fewer
calories.Drink water with a dash of lemon..ALL DAY LONG and a full cup
before any mini-meal.
The protein and complex carbs work toward keeping your blood sugars level and help to stave off intense hunger pains. Fats do an even better job. A little olive oil, a few nuts--all good for you!

Since you have lost weight, I would say that it is working. On the day that you got hungry, had you been eating enough? For most people, after a few days, they lose their appetite for a few weeks, then it comes back. Like Susan said, you need to keep track of how many calories you consume. If you don't consume enough, your body will try to hang on to the fat b/c it is in starvation mode. And if you eat too many, well we all know what happens then. You should go to the Journals section, and you'll get an idea of how much weight everyone has lost. I lost 18 pounds my first month. Everyone is different though, so the amount lost will vary among people. My journal is Ariel's Journal. I have posted for the first 3-4 weeks the amount of calories consumed and the amount of weight I lost each week. Good luck to you. Have you gotten the "cotton" mouth yet? I had it really bad for a week or two then it went away. I had a little bit of a headache, but I have them any way occassionally, so I don't think it was the med. You should probably ask your doctor what you should take if they are too bad.

Oh, one more thing. It took a few days for the medicine to control my hunger, so that may have been why you felt hungry so often. I think it was about somewhere between days 3 and 5 when food lost it's appeal to me.
