Hi everyone. I just started taking Phentermine today. I am taking the 30mg Blue/Clear Capsules that my regular family practice doctor prescribed for me. I am anxious to see how they affect me. I am hoping I am able to deal with the side effects and that they help me to get some of this weight off. I am also tracking my calorie intake and am trying to not go over 1760 calories per day. I will also be walking on my treadmill daily...starting out with 20-30 minutes a day and hopefully building up to an hour from there. I imagine the phentermine will make my heart race, and give me some sleeplessness and jitters as this is what normally happens to me with Sudafed, and my doc says the chemical makeup of the two is very similiar. I am looking for a buddy or a few to join me on my weight loss journey for support. I weighed 153 lbs when I got married, almost 7 years ago, and that was the smallest I have ever been. Most of my life I have been between 180-190 lbs. The most I have ever weighed was 230 lbs. I believe I weigh about 210 lbs right now, and will be getting a scale today to make sure I track my weight accurately. I want to get down to around 140 lbs. I have never been on any type of weightloss medicine before. When I weighed my lowest, 153 lbs in the past... I dropped about 40 lbs on my own just from working 50-70 hrs a week in retail management with odd schedules and not sleeping much. I am sure I wasn't eating much because I was so busy. I wasn't trying to lose weight, it just slowly came off in about a year period on it's on. I plateaued at 153 lbs and remained that on my own for a little over a year, before I became pregnant with my son. I gained 40 lbs while pregnant with him. And the day he was born I had lost 25 lbs of it, but I immediately started gaining weight after that. I wasn't working, and just staying at home with him and being a young mother with not much to do but take care of him and the house, I ate out of boredom. I have always loved food, and I know I eat when I am bored and stressed.
I went to the doctor about 3 months ago for a sinus infection and when the scales read 205 lbs, I about had a nervous breakdown. I had not been over 190 lbs since I was about 17 years old, even when I was pregnant! I knew it was time to stop the eating and try to get back to a healthy weight. My son is 5 years old and just started kindergarten so I now have a lot of time on my hands at home. I am currently looking for a part time job to fill some time. But taking care of him and the house is my full time job.
My husband has always loved me no matter what I weighed so it has been easy for me to neglect my weight...But no more! I am no longer happy with my chunky frame and I want to feel good about myself. So starting today I am going to lose the weight and keep it off. I want to become a healthier, more energetic, happier me. I look forward to getting to know all of you and making some friends for shared support of this journey!

Thanks for the welcome both of you. And Susan...a big "Roll Tide" and a little brag about *ahem...being #1 in the nation* lol I am married to an Aubie though Thanks for all the good advice and food ideas. Protein is what I seem to eat the least of, SO I am working on adding that in by introducing new foods and foods I rarely eat to my diet.
Today is Day#3 and I had my first very noticeable side effect...but hopefully it will get better in the next day or so, or at least day week 2. I hear that's when most go away. I am also having some trouble sleeping at night. If it doesn't pass in a couple days, I will prob try the melatonin someone suggested. Almost 11PM...gotta try to head to bed now...nice talking to ya!
