I was on phentermine before my surgery and lost 16 pounds in three weeks. I was doing great. However, I started again three months after my surgery. I've been doing my diet perfectly well but am noticing some differences.

1) I don't have the energy I had like last time I took it
2) Before I lost tons of weight. Now, I've been on it for almost 6 weeks and have ONLY lost 7 pounds.
3) I'm constipated this time around. Thist didn't happen to me before.

I'm getting frustrated. It's hard to be doing your diet as well as possible...and the scale barely moves....I'm getting discouraged.

Well, there are a couple of things I could suggest here that might help...first of all, magnesium supplements are great to help with constipation...they really do work because I use them myself.

Second...it is very possible that you got a different manufacturer that you are not getting along with...you might check the brand and see if your pharmacist has a different one that you might be able to try.

Also, you did not mention what dose you are taking, if it is the same as what you took before or not...for example if maybe the first time you were on 30 mg and this time you are on 37.5 mg. That can also cause a difference.

And the last thing, is whether or not you are including any exercise, you mention your diet, but not exercise. Adding in 20 minutes of heart rate increasing exercise 3-5 days a week will also greatly increase your success.

Hope some of this helps!

And we are very glad to have you join us!!

Hi and glad to have you on the Forum with us! Our weight really does come off more slowly as we reach closer to our goals. It's just one of the ways our bodies try to protect themselves.

Patty has suggested the Zig-Zag approach, which I think might really help you. You eat different amounts at different times of the day and exercise differently, too.

You might eat 1,000 calories today, but 1,400 tomorrow. Switch up breakfast ingedients for dinner ingredients, etc.

What do others suggest?
