Try to eat some lean protein like chicken, fish, etc or even drink a protein
supplement shake (not meal replacement, just the protein kind without
any sugars, etc). When did you eat the cake? You can help your body
process the cake better if you eat protein with it.

I have always been overweight, but back in 2000, I experienced a dramatic weight loss with no effort. In 2001, at 21 years old, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I went into remission easily, and have had no recurrence to this date. However, I put all the weight back on and then some during and after treatment. The radiation therapy I recieved also caused an underactive thyroid, which has been well controlled with medication for some time. Now, at an all-time high of 286lbs, I'm at my wits end. I've tried everything! I see my doctor regularly, and although I'm relatively healthy now, he warns me that it won't be this way for long. I'm thinking about trying phentermine...what do you guys think?

I personally think...talk to your doctor about this first. If it's something that he thinks will help, he should give you an actuall prescription for it himself. Please don't buy it on your own w/out finding out about it and your condition now. You never know how certain things will react to others.

This is something he and I have both discussed as an option. I guess I still have a few fears, though...

Can anyone tell me about issues with excess skin? I know the rapid weight loss with gastric bypass and such can cause it, but I wonder what the rate is with phentermine since it comes off slower.

There has been talk about that on here in another section also. And yes, I was worried about that as well. But after talking to Ian about it, and a few others as well, I honestly don't think it's going to be an issue. I mean, Phentermine is not a medication that MAKES you lose weight. It is an appetite supressant. It makes you not want to eat. It also helps to take away ALOT of cravings! You HAVE to workout and help yourself in losing the weight. With that said, I think with the working out, and really focusing on losing the weight in a healthy way (i.e. 1-2 lbs a week) that you probably won't have the loose skin. I have ALOT to lose as well so trust me I was VERY worried about loose skin. I think though that if I lose it right, it shouldn't be a probelm. Hope I helped.

Amanda

P.S. Phentermine is a wonderful product, if you take it right and help it work. My doc told me the ONLY requirement he had w/ me taking it was to exercise. SO please just keep that in mind. If your doc feels it's ok...I would try it and see.

I have been taking phentermine for about 8 months now. Weighing in at 322lbs 8 months ago, I'm 222lbs right now. This is the best thing that could have happened to me. I go to the gym at least 4 days a week for about 2-3 hours, I used to break out in sweats, couldn't hardly tie my shoes any more that was enough AT 21yrs old this should not be happing to me. M y ideal size, I don't have one because I have lost the weight now I'm toning and getting firm for the ladies. My chest is just about perfect, working on my six pack that might take some time though. But honestly I would recommend this pill to any over weight person living. It don't take no surgery this is it. My dream has always been to be a male model and I am not far from getting their.
Thanks for creating this pill. I will up date this with phots later to really show you a true weight lost.
I visited my relatives recently because I was hiding form everyone due to my weight. When everyone took a double take on me I knew I was it. [/i]
