Hi, I am just getting started on 37.5 of Phentermine. I take my first pill tomorrow and am so hopeful that this will be the jumpstart I need to finally drop this weight! Just wanted to say "hi" to the board and join this community

lightfoot, there are a few things you can try....first of all, adding exercise will definately increase your loss. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but it should raise your heart rate and keep it up for at least 20 minutes...it doesn't matter if it is walking, jumping jacks, vacuuming...whatever works to get the rate up and keep it up, and do this 3-5 times a week for best results. Also, there is watching your caloric intake. Keeping your daily calories between 1200 and 1500 usually gives the best results. Include plenty of fruits and veggies. Drinking at least 80 to 100 oz of water is also helpful. Not only will it help flush out your system, but it makes your organs work at their best ability.

You have done an excellant job losing that 11 lbs. Way to go!!! Maybe I have listed something that you can change that will really get you losing again!!

Good luck!!

Yup; you ARE doing a great job!

We often have to shake things up a bit if we begin to plateau. Eat supper for breakfast. Eat 1000 calories one day and 1400 the next. Eat 4x a day one day and 6x the next.

Change up your exercise routine. If you exercise 10 minutes normally, bump it to 15 one day and 5 min the next.

Your body will respond!

Hi guys,
My doctor prescribed Phentermine 37.5 mg. During the first 2 weeks, I hardly had any appetite and could hardly sleep. I could hear my heart pumping fast, my hands trembling, and I was sweating hardcore. Seriously, I think for the first 2 weeks, I got around 3-4 hours of sleep per day.

The third week, I got really better. However, I wish the appetite was like the first 2 weeks. During dinner time, after 7 PM (around that time), I get really hungry like I have not eaten all day but I try to control. I have not checked how much I lost. I have not started any excercise regiment. I am signing up for a gym membership on Tuesday and am going to start working out. My friend lost about 80 pounds in 6 months!! He was prescribed phentermine 30 mg. I think the only difference is the strength. Anyways, good luck to everyone!

So what I've started doing is eating something small for breakfast (when I can eat breakfast - it usually makes me feel sick - has ever since I was little), something for lunch. And then maybe an hour or so after lunch, I'll take a phentermine pill. It seems to help me fight those evil cravings that sneak up on me at night. I've always been more of a night time eater. I think I might start taking half a pill after I eat lunch, and then the other half after I eat dinner and see how that works as well.
Hi, for the first 2 weeks being on Phentermine 37.5 mg, I hardly had any appetite but now, it's week 3 and I get really hungry (like I have not eaten all day) around 7-8 PM. I try not to eat so much but it's really hard! Should I also cut the tablet into half; take 1 in the morning then 1 in the evening? I read on the internet you are not supposed to cut the tablets. Did you have any problems when you divided the dose? What about sleep? Did it affect your sleeping patterns? During the first 2 weeks of being on Phentermine, I probably got 3-4 hours of sleep per day. Now, my sleeping pattern is back to normal but I am afraid if I take a dose around evening, I would not be able to sleep at night.

Do you have any suggestions?

Cutting the 37.5 in half and taking 1/2 in the morning and the remaining half around lunchtime is a very good idea, especially if you are feeling hungry later in the day. You may not want to take it too late in the day in order to prevent it from affecting your sleep, though. The only real difference between the 37.5 mg and the 30 mg is the fact that 30 mg is a time release and 37.5 is not. There actually is not any difference in the amount of medicine in them.
