gratefulashley, I don't know if you have shopped around on the internet for Phentermine without a script, but if you have you will see that it is far from cheap. You will be paying around $200 for a bottle, which is way more than most weight loss clinics will charge you for your first visit! Then it works out (for me at least) at around $60 per month - that's just $15 per week, and only $15 per month for the pills them selves... that's how much it costs me at Wal-Mart and I too have no insurance.
If you go the internet route not only is it illegal but you just can't be sure you're getting real pills... and you will be paying $100 + every time!
I speak from experience - a couple of years ago I got them online and it ended up costing a fortune! I'm a stay at home mum too, and it is waaaaay more cost effective in the long run to go to the doc. Just look in the phone book for weight loss clinics and call around for prices - you will be glad you did.

I have no choice but to get my prescription from my doctor's office. After I'm seen by the doc, I walk up to the receptionist who gives me the pills, then I give her the dollars. Its a simple process for busy people like me, yet it does not allow me to buy from someplace who might be cheaper.

Thanks, you are right....most generally, getting this medicine from the dr is usually a very simple procedure once you have your initial dr visit. When I go back for my "check up" visits, I don't have to have an appointment, I just see the nurse. The dr is still aware of what is going on with me because he goes over my file before they give me the rx for the phen. Wham bam and I'm out the door.

As far as the cost goes....even if you include the cost of the dr visit, it is still cheaper than some of the alternatives that I have seen. I tried the phen-d and a month supply of it was about $60 plus shipping...and it didn't work for me so I was out all that for nothing because if you only buy one month, you don't qualify for the satisfaction guarantee.

So, in my personal opinion, I feel that it is no more time consuming or expensive to go to the dr to get the actual phentermine. Plus, you are under a dr supervision which is very important to me.

Good luck to all of you facing this challenge of weight loss!!

The place I go operates under "urgent care" (that is what their sign says). But, all his patients are there for weight loss. That's why I wonder if it is not a weight loss clinic.
