Hello everyone I tried to reply to a post earlier but for some reason it didn't go thru. It's been awhile since I posted to this sight since starting phentermine. I wanted to 1st reply to the post on Dr. Branch's office in Dallas. I started my weight loss journey with him on July 7th 2009. That was the only way I was able to get phentermine perscribed to me. He gave me a plan to go by and told me to come back in 30 days for a follow up. I didn't know if it would work for me but he stated a if I stuck with the plan I would be happy he asked me what my goal weight was and I told him 224 lbs but in the back of mind that was just the first goal weight for me to shoot for as I didn't want to try for something to far fetched to start out with. I weighed in that day at 244 lbs. I left his office that day with a positive attitude and the next day I started a change in my life for a healthier me, i have always been an athelitic person but with my job and long hours of wrk it was just easier to hit the fast food places and make excuses to not exercise. Well I followed the plan eating the right foods and cut out all of the sodas and beer and alcohol and just doin cardio 30-60 min 3-5 days a week I weighed my self on Sunday of each week. It was very hard the first 2 weeks, horrible headaches, dry mouth but my craving for food was gone I had more energy when I woke
up in the mornings. I noticed my clothes started fitting alot better and that was motivation for me to keep goin I went back to Dr Branch for my 30 day checkup and weight in at 219 lbs, he was quite impressed and stated he knew I had followed the plan as outlined. I was very happy with losing 25 lbs and acheiving my first goal, we then talked I did most of it explaining to him that a light had gone off in my head and that phentermine isn't a magic pill that you can just take and hope that the lbs just come off, it's takes hard work but it's well worth the pay off in the end. I was curious though of others that he sees on the program progress was. He told me that not all that he sees follow the program that he outlined for them and are not truthful about eating the right foods and exercising but stated the average was about 8-10 lbs. I told him that made me feel alot better I told him I would continue to wrk hard every day and wrk for my next goal of 200 lbs, I will start doin circuit weight training along with uping my cardio to start my third month of my new life. For everyone whose struggling with weight loss issues just take it one day at a time start eating right and start exercising doin cardio that is a must you don't have to be a world class athlete but you must do cardio to get your heart rate up. I hate running so I use the cybex arc trainer and the ellipectul trainer just up the resistance on those machines I see people on their for an hour and at the end they not even sweating if so very little, but then again their working
out on level 1. If the resistance for that piece of cardio goes up to resistance 20 you need to be doin more than level 1, I usually start out with a 5 min warmup on resistance 6 and then I bump up the resistance through out the workout from resistance 10-15 Im sweating very much througout the workout and at the end of the workout I feel I have accomplished something so remember it's not all about doing 1 hour of cardio, don't get me wrong it's better that doing nothing at all but think more about getting your heart rate up and keeping it in a certain zone, better yet just use the sweat test if your not dripping with sweat at the end of your workout your not doing enough trust me I did cardio like a bunch of yall did so if doubt me here's a challenge not everyone can do those fancy cardio machines so do this for 1 week for me. Do a treadmill workout I'm going to ask to to run or anything try and start out for goal of 30 min your just goin to walk for the entire workout, start out with a 3-5 min warmup at around 2.6 mph or 3 mph and then set the incline to 5 degree incline for 5 min and then take it down to 3 degree incline if you can keep up the pace then leave it at 5 degree incline if 3 mph is to much take it down to
2.6 mph and so forth this will get your heart rate up and running if your not in shape it will get u in shape for those of you who think your in shape up incline keep the speed the same 3 mph and see what kind of workout you will get. I'm no expert just letting yall know what worked for me and others if after 5 days of trying that workout doesn't work for you the go back to wat you were doing before and please comment back to me. I'm very excited to continue my journey and sharing with all of you I will look forward to hearing from yall just don't give up keep a positive attitude and things will work out. I wanted to share my story with everyone and I'm goin to sign off now gotta head to 24 hr fitness and workout for the day.
