I suppose you shouldn't take this advice to heart, completely, since
it is coming from a Gate Pharma employee, but anyway...
I found this post in the Phentermine Tolerance Google Group:
"First, are you taking Adipex or a generic phentermine?
If you are taking a generic, one thing to consider is that
there are several different generic phentermines out there.
Depending on which pharmacy you go to, you may receive a
different phentermine every time you refill your prescription.
This could effect your
weight loss. I would recommend that you
choose a brand name (Adipex-P) and continue using that brand only.
Alot of times the generic phentermines have different mechanisms
of actions that can affect your weight loss
program. If you stick
to one brand (Adipex-P), you will get the same strenghth every time.
Also, Adipex-P is indicated as a short term adjunct, meaning that you
should take it only for a few weeks. Talk to your doctor about taking
a break and then starting back on it. Long term use of Adipex will
cause you to build a tolerance and therefore it will lose it's
effectiveness.
Also, if you are experiencing bursts of energy in the
morning, but find yourself hungry at night, talk to your doctor about
Adipex-P scored
37.5 mg tablets. Many doctors will prescribe this for
patients who get hungry at night because it can bebroken in half.
Sometimes patients will take 18.75 mg (half) in the morning and
18.75 mg (half) at night to extend it's effectiveness.
If you are having trouble sleeping at night, your doctor will probably
have you take half a tablet a day until you can tolerate it. Then you
can begin taking a whole pill. Usually insomnia subsides after a few
days.
Remember that Adipex is the only phetermine that lasts over 12 hrs.
I have seen so many people lose weight from this drug. Remember to
diet and exercise with it. Again, I am not a physician, nor am I
speaking on behalf of Gate Pharma."
