If Phentermine works on the brain and the neuron receptors, etc., is this safe? When you stop taking it does it leave the body quickly? Is it possible that the drug has any long-term effects on the brain/central nervous system? I'd be interested to know...

The only long term effect that I know of is a decrease in the levels
of neurotransmitters in your nervous system. This is exactly what
leads to the end of weight loss with phentermine, as it just quits
working on your body.

Another long-term effect I've heard only a few people talking about
is hair falling out. After following along with weight loss surgery
group on Yahoo, I've learned that this happens if you lose weight
fast enough to be an unhealthy amount of loss every week.
This super-fast weight loss that some people achieve with Phentermine
causes their bodies to search for protein, and it sometimes eats
some hair..

If anyone has more information on this, or any corrections, then
please post about it! I have no problem with being wrong.

Oh man, I really don't want my hair to fall out!!! And I was wondering, if phentermine decreases the number of neurotransmitters we have, is it taking away from our preexisting transmitters, or the extra amount created by phentermine?

Concerning hair loss: This only happens if you don't have enough protein
in your diet, and you are losing weight very fast at the same time.

You probably have nothing to worry about.

About the neurotransmitters... I'm not exactly sure, but from what I've
learned, long term use of Phen (months-years) causes your body to
stop producing the same levels of neurotransmitters that it did previously.

I guess the levels just get low enough because of Phentermine slowing
production, and then it's rendered ineffective after a while.

Ian... I noticed you said that you don't take Phentermine. Have you ever taken it? If not, then why are you so hook on this drug? If you have then forget last question. Is this the only site you have for things like this? Also one last one... What do you do for a living? If you don't mind me asking. It's nothing personal I just like to know who I am taking advice from.

Thanks

Hey Ace, I tried to make it clear in my report on tolerance that it was
just an assembly of info I found through amateur research, and that
I'm definitely not a doctor or healthcare professional of any type.

I have never taken Phentermine, but I did weigh around 210lbs in
7th-8th grade. It was painful for me, especially to be overweight
during those years of my life when I was still developing socially.
I have a negative memory of it, and I want to help others
work their way out of any extra weight they do not want.
I want everyone to enjoy the same great feeling I've had since
I began losing all that weight.

The reason I learned about Phentermine was that during my
senior year, after quitting my job designing websites for companies;
I got involved in the world of online pharmacies. Since then I've
watched people get ripped off, use Phentermine for longer than
they should be, without knowing how to improve their diet and exercise
for permanent weight loss, and other things.

So, I started Shoppe.MD, an online pharmacy comparison site that
I haven't really been taking much care of in a while. I enjoy working
on this site much more. Here's a page with more info about the
reason for Shoppe.MD's existence. http://www.shoppe.md/about_us.html

I also am about to start a new site, PhenClub.com, which is a paid
subscription service that gives people the following:

1) Unlimited, personal online help from our resident personal trainers,
dieticians, motivational experts and nutritionists.

2) A weight loss, meal and exercise plan that is customized for each
person, not just a typical cookie-cut diet plan with things that don't
apply to you.

3. And more...

I'm not ready to launch the real site yet, and I'm still in the process
of trying to get those experts involved.

so phentermine pretty much acts like an antidepressant. Can you get deppressed and lethargic after using it for more than a month?
i read this off an online pharmacy site...
