Here's some facts that affected me while I have been using the drug. No-this is only my findings, and not what the FDA may include!
1) 1st time I went from 225 to 165 lbs in a year. Stopped using it and gained all back plus an additional 10 lbs. I stopped because I wasn't progressing any more. I was suppose to lose at least 5lbs per month, but I stopped losing all together
2) 2nd time I lost 20 lbs in the first month, then maybe 2 or 3 lbs the next few months. Then it lost its effectiveness, so I had to stop using it. I gained all of the weight back and then even more weight.
3) Now weighing in at 260 lbs. I went back on it. I lost 30 lbs. the first month, then I remained at the steady weight of 230 lbs the rest of the 6 months I've been on it. I haven't gained any, but I haven't lost any either. I'm afraid of going off of it for fear that I'll put the weight back on and gain even more.
4) This drug HAS to be monitored monthly by your physician. If not it can cause a drastic increase in blood pressure, chest pains, etc. I have experienced both while on this med. It has caused increase migraines, too.
This med can be helpful if used with a strict
diet plan, exercise and support. Being educated on eating right and exercising right should be enforced with the med, but doctors don't do this. This is why I may have put the weight back on and gained even more.
You should NEVER take this drug if you are pregnant, have an existing heart condition or high blood pressure. Remember- it is one main ingredient of the FenPhen drug that has been banned in the USA for causing heart attacks and strokes.
Hope this answers some questions
