Hi,
This is my first post. I have also had the same trouble with my tongue in the past. Is you tongue sore? Is it coated? My palipae (the big taste buds in middle of the tongue) got irritated from the dry mouth. I was also taking Claritin D at the time too which dried it out more. Basically, I ended up with "hairy tongue" syndrome. Sounds gross I know. Bacteria was getting caught on the swollen palipae and collecting there. I was checked out by a doctor and a dentist to make sure it wasn't mouth cancer (since I smoke). What I now have to do is to scrape my tongue at least 2x per day with a tongue scrapper. Also, Colgate makes a good peroxide rinse that helps to clear the bacteria. I would definately get it checked out by a doctor though just in case. They can see the palipae easier. Hope this helps. Keep drinking plenty of water and stay away from allergy meds with the decongestant in it if you can.

Good luck
Tammy

I get a sore tongue when I take Phentermine too! It doesn't swell, just sooooo sore. Anyone know what I could do to eliminate this side effect? I drink lots of water but still sore.
Thanks

Blues, this thread is so old, but I know your concerns are paramount right now. I think you should phone the doctor and try HALF the dose you are now on, for at least 4-5 days, to see whether that helps some~

Please let us know!

I have the same problem. After 2 days on phentramine my tongue is so sore on the sides and on the top. This time it actually was bright red. Weird I know, but true. If I go off it, or even just take a half one for a few days, my tongue gets better. It is frustrating because I have several friends on it, and none of them are having this problem.

Ouch. Really funny side effect though.
