Make sure you are drinking plenty of water!
Don't be discouraged if you do not see results right away. People lose differently than one another. I have been on Phen for about 2 months and I have lost 20.4 pounds. I thought it was going to come off much faster too. But my doctor said that 1-2 pounds a week is a healthy way to lose and if the weight comes off too fast then you are more likely to gain it back.
Phen is not a magic pill. You still have to work hard. It sounds like you are doing a lot of the right things. Just give it some time.
I am taking 30mg, the yellow capsule.
Here is my progress so far:
Jan 3, 2005 - 273
June 7, 2005 - 248.6 Started Phentermine after losing weight on SBD.
June 14th, 2005 - 242.6
June 21st, 2005 - 243.0 TOM
June 28th, 2005 - 238.0
July 12th, 2005 - 234.6
July 19th, 2005 - 234.6 TOM
July 26th, 2005 - 232.4
August 2nd, 2005 - 231.0
August 9nd, 2005 - 230.0
August 17, 2005 - 228.2 TOM

Congrats on your success! By the way I am drinking a plenty of water, excercising, but i'm not eating that much so do you think that could have an effect on my weight loss?

Hi,
I am trying to use Adipex for about 1 month and 1 week, and so far, I have lost 18 pounds, if not more... I am happy, but cannot say I am totally hungry-free. I do get ocasional cravings for sweets and salty food..
I am very afraid to get off this medication - I will be eating , again! Oh NO!!!
I am energetic so far, but I am SO afraid to get back on "eating truck" after I quit this drug.
I am planning on loosing about 30 pounds more ( now- weight 225 lbs and I am 5'7- 5'8 tall).
As I am reading everyone's story, I get more excited and motivated to loose weight. Don't stop, just keep posting your comments, please.
P.S. A comment on headache: I have switched to Splenda completely, and I don't have any headaches any longer - the fact is that "aspartime" and "sacharrine" are #1 headache-producers in the world.
Good luck! :-D

I started phentermine 2 weeks ago and I weighed today and it looks like I have only lost 2 pounds. I exercised and am super discouraged. Any advice...I keep reading about massive weight loss and feel somewhat hopeless!

DO not get discouraged! It depends how much you weight, how much you need to lose, how old you are, and the dosage! Also, I now drink 64-96 oz. of water a day! I have only been doing simple things for exercise, but need to increase it. ( at 1st I did not eat much, but now I try to eat small meals, fruit-apples, etc throughout the day and it helps, to actually EAT!
It took me a little over 1 month to lose my 1st 10 lbs, then I was stuck for awhile at 15lbs., now down 20-21 lbs. since 10/29/07. So, we are all different, and I still need to lose 40-50 lbs., I am 5 feet tall and 43 years old too. I am giving myself small rewards for every 10 lb. loss, like a pedicure or something!
I park far, far away to shop, I walk briskly through the store, if it is like Target! I shoveled snow, clean the house a lot, got rid of tons and tons of junk from living in our house for 13+ years and even found my 10 years old's first baby binky!!!
I eat lots of DARK leafy greens, DO NOT skip breakfast, even on the run! I eat Total cereal, oatmeal or yogurt w/berries & a SMALL amount of plain granola! I am on a low sugar, low sodium change of life, due to 1st time high BP!
I am telling you, if you cut sodium to 1,,000-1,500 mg. per day this helps gets rid of bloat too! THE average American eats 4,000 mg. per day, way to much, I learned this through research and my DR.!
For example: sodium is in soda, Progresso soup- 1/2 cup is about 800-900mg. , so 1 CAN= 1600-1800 mg. in one dish, yikes!!!!
LOW sodium is really helping me, so much that I sometimes skip Phen 2 days a week, so I make sure I can do this w/o Phen. I want to be able to taper off at some point near my goal weight, and want to know I am actually changing my way of eating! I use small plates w/small "main meal" portions and a BIG plate w/the salad! ( i use 1 tsp., look for 120mg. sodium or less & low sugar)
I hope this helps for now, keep the faith!

Good idea from 40! Rmemeber it is hard to do and that phentermine is a tool, not a result. WORK hard at changing your diet while it gives you the boost needed to lose.
Drink water ALL DAY. Do some form of exercise daily, no matter how long. Record your daily intake for 1 week. Helps keep you aware and accountable.
Count drinks, too. Don't eat <1,000 cal or your body will lower your metabolism and slow your loss. Be patient and it will pay off. Make sure meals have a healthy mix of nutrients. Fats+protein are slower to digest than carbs. Carbs digest in 2 hs, protein in 4 and fat takes 6, which explains why people on low-carb diets have less hunger than those on low-fat diets. .Work to develop healthy habits. Avoid mindless eating w/TV or movies. Do not use food as a stress reliever, rather try exercising, listening to music...No more fast foods. Prepare and eat your meals slowly.
A food diary is a great asset. Write down everything you eat+drink. Keep it with you and make your entries often; it forces you to give conscious thought to what you eat. COUNT YOUR CALORIES but THESE are almost freebies: Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries have few calories. Citrus Fruits are high in vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber. Egg whites are very low in calories, have no fat, no cholesterol, and are loaded with protein, which you should consume each of the 5-6 times per day that you eat.. Crunchy Veggies are limitless- eat as you wish.
