Sorry muppet, I don't know if you can or not. I know that that is for ance problems. But, I would rec.... that you asked the doc that put on the accutane. Or you can call his/her office and tell them your question. Most of the time the office nurse will get back with you on something like that. Or mine will anyway. Hope this helps you some.
Hey Muppet, I'm going to sound off on this one. PLEASE don't take accutane. I took it a couple years ago, and I really regret doing so. First of all, it made my skin so sensitive that, even now, if I get a pimple, the mark left by it remains on my face for WEEKS afterwards and takes forever to fade away. I don't get tan like I used to anymore because of the stuff either. It made me so sensitive to the sun that I got tiny white bumps all over my back and shoulders and they still haven't gone away. Taking accutane has also been linked to LIVER problems (like liver cancer, which is deadly) because it possesses an extremely large amount of vitamin A, which in high doses can be nearly lethal. I SOOO regret taking accutane. I wish I could go back into the past and change the fact that I did take it. Use proactiv and try to change your diet, but please don't go to the extreme of taking this drug. It has so many horrible potential side effects. It's just NOT worth it.

Well, I have been pretty nervous about taking the accutane. But my face hurts so bad because of my pimples. I have tried all kinds of stuff for it. My Derm. took one look at me and presribed it to me. I would hope that she would prescribe it to me only if she thought I really needed it. At least that is what I hope. Thanks for the advise though.

Have you tried retin a? I used that a long time ago I used it mostly for stretch marks but it worked for acne. My make up product Benefit just put out a new acne line. I've been using the acne body scrub for a couple of weeks and I like it. Also the buh-bye is really good. It's a green cream that you just dab on, that works too. It's kind of expensive but I like it.
When I was in my 20s my doctor told me about trying a new cotraceptive pill called Diane ED.This made a HUGE difference to the acne I had at the time. Sorry guys this is only for girls being to stop pregnancy at the same time But I took it for 2yrs and had great skin while on it!BUT after that time my skin did the opposite and became over dry.No moisturiser was rich enough to stop the flaky dry skin appearing.THEN this brown mark that looked like a sun spot appeared on my face.It looked like a mask around my eyes, forehead, cheeks. It left my eyes and an inch below them normal like a batman mask.I thought I had spent too much time in the sun.A few weeks later I ran into a friend of mine I hadnt seen for ages. She asked if I had changed my pill lately,I told her about the Diane. She told me that it could be a sideaffect, and read the pill info paper. When I got home there it was in black/white,I told my doctor and he scoffed that it was a rare side affect etc.I stopped taking it and in 4wks the whole mark disappeared! I would recomend taking this for a year to help your skin balance out, then change or stop it after that.It really helped to start with!
Just a quick extra,it was more expensive than a normal pill.No amount of cleansing or scrubbing will stop acne appearing,it might stop them from getting worse or infected.I tried everthing including metho neat rubbed on to them!It is purely a hormonal thing and not even what you eat makes that much difference.Water helps, lots of veggies etc mildly helps .But as soon as I went on this pill without changing my diet, they all vanished! Maybe it works differently for other people but try it and find out!My skin is ok now I am in my 30s,the occasional zit,but a lot better than before! :-D
Thanks everyone for all the advise. I have taken retin-a before and it did not help me. My derm told me that I have nodular cystic acne, and the only thing that would help it would be accutane. Anywho, I have not taken my Phentermine in like a week. I am too scared too.
