This is my first day on phentermine and I felt great all day and had tons of energy, I even lost 4lbs today . But I dont feel tired at all. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get tired or how long I will be like this? Please help. Also I was wondering when well I ever be hungry? I mean right now its great never being hungry. But all I could force myself to eat for the whole day was a cup of Tuscan beans with lentils , and 7 liters of water. :eek:

Do you take your pill once a day? and when do you take it? You might need to take it earlier in the day. I'm on the 15mg pill twice a day. Mine is a lower dose so I still get hungry in the middle of the day. After I take the phen I'm not hungry as much, so I get fuller faster than I used to and I can stop eating a lot sooner. I haven't experienced any sleeplessness. If I do take a nap in the afternoon I stay up later than I would like to but I'm usually able to fall asleep after reading. Try reading or a low impact workout. After I workout I get sleepy. Get your body temp up so your sweating and then cool down. The temp change from hot to cold makes people sleepy, or take a hot bath or shower and step into a cool (not too cool) room when your done. Even though you are not hungry you should still be eating small meals or snacks about every 2 - 3 hours. Your body needs the nutrients and it will get your metabolism going. If your body isn't getting enough calories in the day it will go into starvation mode and will hold on to the fat and you won't lose anything. Also your body will burn the muscle and not the fat, we don't want that. It should be burn the fat and build up the muscle.

Here's what I've been eating:
Breakfast: 1-2 cups special k cereal and fat free yogurt
lunch: lean cuisine or weight watchers frozen food, or a sandwhich, or a salad with broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, and chicken. Fruit , 100 calorie cookies
dinner: frozen food, or salad, or half chicken and half a sweet potato (this has been really good with I can't believe it's not butter and cinnamon), fruit. Once a week I get a half sandwhich and frozen yogurt with peanut butter cup toppings as a treat.

Mix it up. Check the food labels. I do the three gram rule. For every 100 calories there's 3 grams of fat. Those new nabisco 100 calories snacks follow the 3 gram rule: Oreo Cookies, Chips Ahoy Cookies, Wheat Thins, Cheeze its, and Fruit Snacks. They're really good. I keep these in my locker at work so I don't buy from the vending machine, it's been helpful. If you try these tips and others from other people maybe you need to have your dose lowered and then take the higher one. I hope this helps.

Thanks so very much MayMay, You give very helpful advice. I talked to my doctor and he said that the sleeplessness should ware off soon as my body adjust to the Phentermine. I have been sleeping better now that I excercise more as you suggeted. And I'm forcing myself to eat atleast 3 small meals a day. Thank you so much. I have now lost 71/2 lbs in 3 days,woooooooo hoooooooo. I am so happy :grin: I hope this keeps working. I'm also drinking Senna tea every morning and night to help flush out my system so that helps alot to. I used to do that when I was a ballet dancer. It really works but make sure you can be by a bathroom in the morning :shock: I'll post my total weight loss for the week on saturday. Wishing you all luck and myself :grin:

Good job on the weight loss. I lost 7 pounds my first week. Now I lose about 2-3 each week. I've noticed after an hour of taking the phen you have to be by the bathroom too. I never did ballet when I was little, I did do cheerleading for 5 years so I did dance with that. I wish when I was younger I had gotten into ballet, tap or jazz. I would love to learn salsa dancing that looks like fun. Have you seen that show on fox so you think you can dance. I just saw it for the first time last wednesday. I like how they have them do more than one dance style. Keep up the good work.

Hey MayMay, Well its been 10 days and all together I have lost 14lbs, I'm slowing down now, it seems I'm getting hungry now, I'm still eating really good, Kashi go lean,sometimes a egg and a piece of whole grain toast,jerky,fruit,nuts,raw veggies, and lean meat.Plus loads of water and excercise a 1hr a day atleast. I hope that I will still lose atleast 3-4lbs a week but I just dont know now. I dont feel like I did in the begininng,when I used to never be hungry. I'll keep you updated.And do my new weigh in next saturday.Thanks for all your help :grin:

I'm glad you are doing well. It's been about a 1-3 pound loss for me each week. It varies on how well I did. I know that if I start getting hungry I've waited too long to eat. It's better to lose slowly so the weight will stay off longer and you won't gain it back when you stop taking phen. I'm on my last prescription, so I'm cutting back from 2 pills to 1, so it'll last longer. My preschool class started this week. This is where I gained a lot of my weight becuase we eat with the kids. I've been bringing my own lunch and eating it instead of the school food. I did eat some of the fruit though. As long as it is fresh fruit and not the canned fruit with the all that sugar. Keep it up.

I have been taking since late June. Started on 30 and went to 37.5. I too did not sleep for about four days. Now I take them at 5AM before I go to work and by 5PM I am starved. My hair has also started to fall out. My mother-who is a hair dresser-told me I am not getting enough protein. Yesterday I forced my self(with a big lump in my throat) to have a yogurt around 10am. I am going to start forcing myself to eat/ I have not been doing that and now my weight loss is at a stand still. I have lost 23 lbs since mid-late June. Really, compared to others, I have not done so well. That is about 3lbs a week which is proably healthier. Who Knows. Anyway, I really enjoy reading these stories. And YES, I sell MaryKay................The best stuff in the world :grin: and cheap too 8) I will ship if you want any-let me know
I am starting to think that I should give it a break for a little while?? My doc is not aware that I am on them and I am not sure how long I should really take them. Sometime I notice that while my insides are not racing or anything like that, my hands shake. I only want to lose about 10 more pounds. Of course everyone knows, those are the hardest. Any suggestions would be helpful. Look forward to reading later. Gotta get ready for work-and take my Pill. It is 5:26am. Have a :grin: day.

Hi MaryKay girl--

Why don't you try not taking it for a few days. Sometimes our bodies become imune to it. Also have you read the report that Ian sends out. You might find some good tips on how to get your body to react to the medicine again. I read in other forums that it is a temporary medicine but if you try to get off it for a week or so and restart again it might work.


make sure you don't over eat if you do get off it.
