I don't know if it is true. I know that my doctor didn't exactly say it boosts the metabolism, but she pointed out that it does increase your energy which in turn causes you to be more active all day and therefore helps burn more calories, but only because you can't stay still or get any sleep mostly. (If, of course, you get this effect as strongly as a lot of people on phen)
Boosting metabolism would be something of a "thermogenic" issue or the rate of which your body expels calories.
Someone on a thermogenic for example might burn more calories on a 45 min brisk walk than someone not taking a metabolism booster. The energy is a natural part of being on an amphentermine type drug, it makes you wired, you might sweat, etc. Phentermine is only supposed to effect the central nerve system in the brain that controls your appetite triggers or signals, it is in street terms "being on speed", stimulates you, takes away the appetite, but I do not know if it actually increases your thermogenics or metabolism. Any doctors out there? This is a confusing thing because I am wired, I sweat just doing the dishes...and usually that (for me) is a sign that I am expelling at a high rate, I feel like my "metabolism" is on high while I'm on phentermine and with as much weight that is gone in a short time, it does seem to make some sense.
Hmmmmm.......
