Is it a bad idea to take Lexapro with Phentermine?

Always check with your doctor first before taking two meds that you are concern of. My opinion is that the two medication does not have any interaction. Unlike Phentermine and Prozac which should not be mixed. If the phentermine is causing you to have some anxiety the lexapro will help calm your nerves down also could help you fall asleep if taken in the evening. The only bad thing is that it could cause you to sleep less which the phentermine does the same. I was on Lexapro prior to starting adipex and I lost 30 pds plus a strick diet. Though while being on the Lexapro it allowed me to have that motivation of knowing that I could stick with a diet and lose the weight but I started having side effects with the lexapro and had to stop the med. ( too sleepy). I hope this has been some help for you.

Hey there!

I am on Lexapro and Seroquel. I found a few sites that will compare the compatibility of drugs and I entered my dosage of Lexapro (40 mg) and my dosage of Phentermine (37.5mg) and it said that there would be no interactions between the two.

Because I have heard rumor of interactions I am going to monitor myself very carefully and I'd recommend that you do the same.

I also reconfirmed with my friend that's a pharmacist that all of my supplements (calcium, etc.) and RX meds are all compatible. He said that he didnt' see a problem with Lexapro and that as long as I listened to my body I'd be fine.
