I have been taking phentermine for 4 years now (on and off). I feel I have become addicted to the pills because when ever I weigh myself and notice I gain the weight back I got back to the clinic to get more. I have anxiety and I'm very nervous. I've tried to tell my doctor but all she says is that I get need to eat healthy and leave those pills alone. But I just keep on getting them. Can any one help me with this problem?

I share your pain eve. Ive been taking them since im 18 im now 33. They are mentally addictive to the highest level as well as physical. I have tried to go off them, after the 2nd day i cant even get out of bed so i usually dont go farther then that ,not to mention the weight you can put on in just a few days of withdrawls. I could go on and on. If you need some support PM hon.

I just looked up the Wayne Diet Clinic site and saw what looked to be close to 100 articles published by Ian Mason, founder and administrator of this site. I had no idea that he had so many sites covering so many topics! Anyway, I was able to learn a little more about Phentermine . Since I'm only taking it occasionally, I'm not alarmed but I am concerned about some of the other members. Read up and be careful!

I'm sure they're OK. I've noticed that there are quite a few people who have come and gone when looking over some of the old threads. Some people will be on here everyday for a couple of months and then just suddedly stop. They probably gave up and stopped dieting and didn't feel the need to return.

As far as being addictive, it can be. It absolutely can become a psychological crutch. How strong the psychological addiction is depends on the person. Physically addictive is another story. You won't need a room at the Betty Ford center but you will need to sleep...A LOT..and you may feel a bit depressed and generally sluggish. In a couple of weeks you'll be your old self. I've gone through it a few times so I'm speaking from experience.

Many members do come and go.... some people post just two or three times and never see them again... it does happen! I'm glad you found the articles and armed yourself with information!

I think that it is scary for people to be addicted to these. I cant completely see how it can happen. and i believe that is why i have a hard time sticking to taking them everyday. I hope that the people who posted this are ok or are on there why.... i hope that they found help... maybe they still lurk... if so tell us how your doing... or anyone else with an addiction talk to us.... you wont get bashed.... people just need to know how and to watch out for..

thanks cassandra

Phen can be terribly addicting..think about how many people came "looking" for it when they could no longer get it..I remember when Ephedra went off the market...I remember the GNC was like a freakin crack house (very sad) people wanting to know if there was stuff in the back, under counters...back ordered...very sad but true. If you have lost weight while on phen but NEVER changed your mindset about FOOD, DIET, EXERCISE ,HEALTH...then imagine how freaked you would be if your weight DID creep up on ya...that's is why the people who realize that this is no magic pill (it takes changes) WILL succeed in losing and keeping the weight off as opposed to those who think it is a quick fix. I really hope that those who feel or do have an addiction to these pills (or others) gets the help that they need.
