High i am on 37.5mg of phetermine perscribed twice a day but im trying different ways like splitting and one a day...The information packet the weight loss clinic gave me lists some does and dont's. since this doc never even asked me a sngle question nor did nothing more then take my blood pressure and weight and ask me how many pills i wanted. kind of thought the place was a joke. But o~well. Anyways to my questions the packets says no more then 600-900 Calories a day no pasta breads potatoes (basically no carbs) dairy and ofcourse caffine. Is that the same type of diet your Docs perscribed (the ones that got it from a doctors office)? I can see how it is easy to only eat that little amount of calories cause i am not hungry that much...but is it healthy?

wow only that few calories I would say not to go under 1200 its really hard for me to get 1200 a day but I have heard and read several places that should be the lowest you go to keep your body from slipping into starvation mode

Yes two a day
my bottle reads
Take 1 Tablet at 11 a.m & 5p.m Daily
Take less if nervousness occurs
60 Supramine (phentermine) 37.5 tablets

The first day i took it as percribed..first dose was fine...When i took the second dose at 5p.m. the best way i can describe it was stoned. Like i had smoked a few joints. My husband said my eyes were really glassy. I felt really mellow..did not like it at all.
The next day i only took the 11 a.m dose....in the evening i started getting abit hungrier. And really tired.
So yesterday i took half at 11a.m. and half at 5p.m

As for the calories...i have been keeping track of them on slim-fasts website with their nutrition log. I have stayed between the 600-1000 intake range this week. i just really worry that it isn't enough overall to be healthy in the long run. So i made myself eat at least 1100 yesterday.

this place really did not ask much at all or tell much A nurse took my weight and my BP then just had me watch a video for 10 minutes handed me my pills and a information packet and then the doc came in shook my hand said hi i am Dr.Z****** good luck call if you need us otherwise see you in about a month. That is why i am trying to do more research on my own.

wow i would check with someone and make sure you are supposed to take 2 i myself couldnt imagine taking 2 of the 37.5mg a day

do me a favor and check around i am worried about you taking 2 i would take either 1 in the morning or half in the morning and half around 2 i keep track of my calories on fitday.com its great i also would highly recommend starting a journal on here you will be amazed at the support you get good luck and keep me informed

You should NEVER go below 1200 calories per day!!! If you take in too few calories at first you will experience alot of rapid WEIGHT loss--meaning only loss of fluids and muscle fiber. That's no good because your body thinks it is starving and slows your metabolism as a result.

Your bod will then start living off of muscle fiber and that is the exact opposite of what you want. Depending on your age, individual metabolism, body structure and activity level, roughly 1200 (for smaller structured or less active people) to even 1800(for larger structured or highly active people) is suitable.

It is really better to measure success by loss of inches as opposed to pounds. If you exercise regularly you will gain lean muscle mass which actually weighs more than fat, but you will see yourself measuring much smaller in inches.

An example of what I do:
I am 25 and 5 foot tall with a very small bone structure. I try to work out often, but my job is sedentary so I'm not buring alot of calories otherwise. My ideal weight for my petite body structure is about 113 pounds. My doc said 1200 calories/day is what I should strive for even when I'm not dieting in order to maintain a healthy weight. When I work out heavily though, I tend to go to about 1500 per day with alot of proteins to help sculpt and build muscle.

Now obvously this wouldn't work for another woman who may be 5'9" with a large bone structure and a more active lifestyle.

If I were you I'd forget those quacks at the so called "weight loss clinic" and check with your family dr. Some weight loss clinics are reputable and are concerned for your health, but it sounds like yours is doing that kind of crap so you'll lose a little weight really fast and think it's working for you so you'll continue to give them $$!!
