I am new to this site and have a couple questions. I am 29 yrs old, 168lbs .A mommy of 4, with major resistance to weight loss. I have done all the diet plans from Atkins to South beach,And taken most major diet pill brands (over counter) you can think of. Been to an endocrinologist in past and was prescribed Merida 15mg. Been on 12 cal diets. Low fat diets.all the good stuff :-D My latest journey was that I bought Turbo Jam ,had been doing it for 3 weeks ( 5 times a week) with a low carb diet to go with it . And no weight loss. So I went back to the Dr, And was prescribed Phetermine 37.5 once a day. TOday will be day one. Now questions. How long does it take to c effects . how much should I expect to lose within the first week?Has anyone ever had it not work? All advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello. I'm new to the website too. I'm also having the same problems. I tried Meridia also and all it really did for me was keep me up day and night and made me feel like a zombie. I ordered Phentermine yesterday and I can't wait to get started. Good luck!

OK well, first of all welcome to PhenForum! This is a great place and you will get lot's of great advice and meet many many wonderful people!

Usually you will notice the effects of Phen on the first day. Most people get that "buzzy" feeling LOL It usually only last a few days though so don't worry. Some people get headaches, those usually go away too. Sleeplessness was one of the things I had to go through at the first also. Again, that only lasted a few days.

As far as how much you will lose in the first week, well that really depends on you. The one and only thing my Doctor told me I HAD to do w/ the Phen was to exercise! That was a must! You will probably notice too that you don't feel like eating. But please, make sure that you DO EAT! Try for every 3-4 hours. Most people say, me included, that if you don't eat, the Phen will make you feel kinda sick at your tummy. Eating more often like that also ups your metabolism.

There are some great reports on here that Ian has written or had written for him (he's the founder of the site BTW) and it's a great idea to go through and read those. He offers alot of very helpfull info.

Hope I have helped you out some, and welcome again! Keep us posted on how you are doing with things!

Amanda

Welcome to all newbies! Dreamy is right, drink lots of water and try to exercise. Try to eat healthy meals. The phen is meant for short term use so use this time to train your body and your mind into a healty lifestyle. As for the projected weightloss, that will differ from person to person. I have heard of everything from none to one woman who lost over 30 lbs the first 2 weeks. That's probably not going to happen for most people though. I lost 9 lbs this week which is my first week of taking it. Try looking though the posts and you will see a wide range of weight loss. And if you have a problem with meds keeping you up at night, try cutting the 37.5 mg tabs in half. Take one in the morning and one no later than 1 or 2 in the afternoon. You may need just the first half to keep you going anyway. Good luck to all.

Blondefrost, thanks for the information. I am new to the website and I love it!! I need all the help I can get. I got a prescription from a doctor yesterday and started the medicine today. He also gave me a multi vitamin, and PiChrome of 200mg. I got a B12, B5, B6 injection yesterday and LOVE the energy. I go back next week and can't weight to see the results. I'm on Phentermine 30 mg. so I hope that is enough. I have been able to loss weight before but I didn't follow thru and it always came back. I'm going to do it right this time so that I don't have to do it again.

Hi.. I am new to Phentermine also.. Just started last friday.. I could tell the difference the first day as many people did.. i had NO APPETITE!!! Now I have some back, but I still have to make myself eat. The only side effects that I have noticed were upset tummy a bit and wanting to drink water constantly (which isn't a bad thing). I haven't lost much yet, but I am certainly looking foward to it... I would recommend exercising cause not only does it help your health and weight loss, but it curves some of the stomach cramps too. Good Luck with it all!!!
