Good Morning:
I'm currently on Didrex because in the past it's what worked for me. However, my fear is that the same thing will happen as before. After awhile it stops suppressing my appetite. I would have gone on Phen, but there are so many different ones that it was just too confusing! So I went back to Didrex. Anone have suggestions regarding which one might work for me if I give up Didrex? I've heard that Didrex is the strongest one and if that won't work for me, nothing will. I can't ask my dr. because the pills weren't prescribed by him. Thanks!

I'm on phentermine 37.5 mg it is pretty strong, but i am never on it long term. My doctor always takes me off at around 2 months so my body does not adapt to it. in 2 months you can (or atleast i did) lose like 27 lbs. that was the first time around and now I have just started up again for the secound time on may 8th and have already lost 6 lbs. How long does it take the Didrex before it stops to work for you?

Hi bstuff, There really are not as many different types of phentermine as it seems. There are quite a few drug manufacturers that produce it. You really have just three basic types. 1) 15mg.time released capsules 2)30mg. time released capsules 3) 37.5 tablets. top-dawg

Phentermine, Didrex and Tenuate are all classified as a sympathomimetic amine. All three work by stimulating the central nervous system, increasing your heart rate and blood pressure and decreasing your appetite. Didrex is a brand name. The generic name for it is benzphetamine.Tenuate is also a brand name and the generic counterpart is diethylpropion. Phentermine is the generic equivalent to Adipex, Ionamin, etc. Although the ingredients are different they respond to the body in the same way. All three of these weight control products are for short term use. Short term is defined as 8-12 weeks. The body builds a tolerance if used for extended periods of time. dawg

Thanks for the info! I've only been on the didrex for a few days and I don't think it's helping. I'm starting to think none of them will help now. I'd certainly switch to something else, but it's just too expensive unless I know it'll work. Guess I'll just go buy a bunch of moo moos! Ha!
