This is my second day taking phentermine (37.5mg pills), and I've been dripping sweat all day long. I feel great and have tons of energy, but I'm wondering if maybe there's a risk I'll become dehydrated. The same thing happened to me a while back when I tried the Atkins Diet Induction Phase. I always knew when those ketostix would turn purple because I would start sweating. Is this a good sign, like maybe my metabolism has kicked it up a notch?

I should probably also mention that I am 26, female, and weigh 286 lbs.

Hello mamapotter, Phentermine works by stimulating the central nervous system. (nerves and brain) One way to look at it is when someone is nervous they are apt to perspire more than usual. That is why it is extremely important to drink at least 100oz. of water each day. That should prevent dehydration. You mentioned ketostix, are you by chance diabetic ? top-dawg

No, I'm not diabetic. The Atkins book recommended using them to tell when you are successful. After the first couple of days without carbs, supposedly fat-burning kicks in triggering the release of ketones in the urine, sweat and saliva. I always noticed a faintly sweet taste in my mouth when this happened and my ketostix would turn purple. Don't worry, I have been tested a few time since then, the most recent only a month ago.

Thanks for the tip, though. Evidently somethings working right!!
