Hi Rachel, You are fine, It is a well known interaction. You are on a very low dose of prozac and as long as the doctor continues to monitor you, there shouldn't be any problems. I'll send you the signs to watch for if you are still concerned. dawg

The symptoms of the serotonin syndrome are: euphoria, drowsiness, sustained rapid eye movement, overreaction of the reflexes, rapid muscle contraction and relaxation in the ankle causing abnormal movements of the foot, clumsiness, restlessness, feeling drunk and dizzy, muscle contraction and relaxation in the jaw, sweating, intoxication, muscle twitching, rigidity, high body temperature, mental status changes were frequent (including confusion and hypomania - a "happy drunk" state), shivering, diarrhea, loss of consciousness and death. (The Serotonin Syndrome, AM J PSYCHIATRY, June 1991)

What kind of problem are you having? If you click on the link, It's not displaying the page? I don't understand, I just tried it and it took me directly to the web site. Insofar as what you just posted, please keep in mind it sounds way more severe than it actually is. Just make sure you continue to see your doc on a regular basis, ok? Good Luck, and Rachel, you are worrying way too much. dawg

Hi, I have taken Phentermine along with lexapro for several months. The precautionary reasons for the advice from any medical professional or literature is because in the studies done on drug interactions any cases of adverse effects must be reported and documented. Theses are sometimes very rare cases not the norm. Nonetheless the public has to be advised due to any one person bieng the potential one in a million...that can become ill. Getting back to the two drugs together, the phentermine can actually be slightly more effective. I have lost 25 pounds in 3 months, while still eating normal foods just decreasing the portions. I have not had any adverse effects from them together.I was advised to take phentermine in the morning and lexapro at night so that each reaches its peak at opposite times of the day. I am also under the care of a physician. Hope this helps...
