Back in 2000 I was trying to
diet and ended up losing almost 90 pounds in about 5 months. I thought everything was fine and that I was doing a great job until I strated having night sweats and anemia so bad I couldn't work. It turns out I had a Stage 3 lymphoma. Talk to your husband and tell him you understand if he is trying
phentermine, but would like to know all about it. Tell him that (God forbid) anything should happen to him and he would have to go to the hospital you would need to give his doctors all the information. If he admits it, it is possible that phentermine could be causing the
weight loss, but encourage him to see a doctor just in case. If he doesn't, knock him out and drag him to the doctor if you have to! Just kidding, but he needs to see a doctor soon. Keep watch for any of these symptoms as well:
Frequent or persistent sore throat.
Frequent or persistent swelling and/or tenderness of the lymph nodes INCLUDING those under the armpit and in the groin area.
Fatigue or shortness of breath, especially if accompanied by pale and/or cold clammy skin.
Night sweats.
Yellowness to the skin and/or whites of eyes.
A persistent low grade fever.
Blood in the urine or stool.
These are just some of the symptoms, and I'm not trying to freak you out, just cautious. Keep in mind, too great weight loss can cause gallstones. These symptoms can include nausea and vomiting(especially after eating), and mild to severe pain in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen. The pain during an attack can radiate to the chest and back, mimicking hearburn or a heart attack.
I'm not a doctor (I'm a nurse actually) but everything I have told you here is from my personal experience (even the gallstones). Just keep an eye on your husband until he is cleared by a doctor. Good luck!!
