Hi, I am very worried about my husbands weightloss. He has lost something like 30 kilograms in 3 months, and I kept asking how he did it, but he just would say, "I dont know?".

I was worried he had cancer or something, until i found http://bestproofonline.Com/?9v1p in his browser bookmarks which proved for me that he has been taking PHENTERMINE!

My question is this: Is this safe????????

Also is it addictive. I will admit he looks terrific, I am just worried about the consequences of such rapid weight loss!

Chrissy, the only way to know if it is safe is on an individual basis. My husband can not take it as he has a heart arythmia.

It is a lot of weight to lose in a short amount of time. From what I have read you should not take it more than 90 days. Is your husband eating small meals? exercising? What was his starting weight?

Wow Chrissy, why didn't he tell you? That seems odd but maybe he was embarrassed. 66 pounds is a lot to lose in three months. I'd ask him about it. Tell him what you know and tell him you are concerned for his health. Try to get him to talk to a doctor with you to address your concerns. Is he at a healthy weight now?

66 lbs is a lot to lose in 12 weeks. It sounds like one of those "too good to be true" commercials you see on tv. He may have trouble keeping the weight off with such a rapid loss, and the yo-yo effect could be detrimental to his health as well. I agree that a doctor's visit would help. Good luck, Ellen

Hi Chrissy, You are right to worry. That amount of weight lost in that short period of time is too much. Try and convince him to go to the doc. for a check up. As far as phentermine being addictive, Yes it can be addictive. Anyone taking it for three weeks or more should really not stop it abruptly. You should gradually back off of it. If not, you will find yourself listless, very tired, headachy and sometimes nauseous. dawg

Back in 2000 I was trying to diet and ended up losing almost 90 pounds in about 5 months. I thought everything was fine and that I was doing a great job until I strated having night sweats and anemia so bad I couldn't work. It turns out I had a Stage 3 lymphoma. Talk to your husband and tell him you understand if he is trying phentermine, but would like to know all about it. Tell him that (God forbid) anything should happen to him and he would have to go to the hospital you would need to give his doctors all the information. If he admits it, it is possible that phentermine could be causing the weight loss, but encourage him to see a doctor just in case. If he doesn't, knock him out and drag him to the doctor if you have to! Just kidding, but he needs to see a doctor soon. Keep watch for any of these symptoms as well:

Frequent or persistent sore throat.
Frequent or persistent swelling and/or tenderness of the lymph nodes INCLUDING those under the armpit and in the groin area.
Fatigue or shortness of breath, especially if accompanied by pale and/or cold clammy skin.
Night sweats.
Yellowness to the skin and/or whites of eyes.
A persistent low grade fever.
Blood in the urine or stool.

These are just some of the symptoms, and I'm not trying to freak you out, just cautious. Keep in mind, too great weight loss can cause gallstones. These symptoms can include nausea and vomiting(especially after eating), and mild to severe pain in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen. The pain during an attack can radiate to the chest and back, mimicking hearburn or a heart attack.

I'm not a doctor (I'm a nurse actually) but everything I have told you here is from my personal experience (even the gallstones). Just keep an eye on your husband until he is cleared by a doctor. Good luck!!
