Antidepressants and Phentermine

Anyone who is currently taking an antidepressant known as an S.R.I. or serotonin reuptake inhibitor should not take phentermine. The interaction between the two can be very serious. If you are unsure whether the medication you are taking is an S.R.I. please post the name of it and I will let you know the drug classification. Thank You, top-dawg

Hi g, Elavil or/amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant and there aren't any bad interactions w/ the phentermine. dawg :razz:

What about Tramadol? I know it's not an AD, but it's supposed to have SSRI qualities.

Hi Peaches, Tramadol is a pain reliever and doesn't have any interactions with phentermine. It isn't classified as a narcotic but the properties are similar to that of a narcotic. dawg

I have a friend that takes adderall and wants to start taking phen... i told her that im not sure if that was a good idea, is that true? She said that she would just stop her add meds ...but whoooo wouldn't that really mess her up???
