So, if I am taking phentermine and 5-htp, I should be monitored? do you recommend NOT taking an amino acid?

I do not take any other meds. for serotonin, or depression or anything like that as I understand the risks explained on this forum.

Hi Susan123, I think if you read The Phentermine Tolerance Report, that Ian prepared it will be better than me trying to explain it. I'm not all that sure, even as a pharmacist that I fully understand the process itself. It sounds a little complicated to begin with because your talking about neurotransmitters and D-5 ,amino acids and CysReplete with the phentermine. It does work, if you follow the instructions make sure you do what you are supposed to. To get a copy of it you just go to the "home page" ( where you log in to the forum) and there are separate areas of the forum there. You will see "Has phentermine quit working for you?" I think it is the eighth segment down. When you enter that you will see a link to click on to download the report. It's free and it's very interesting.
