I guess it depends on your tolerance to the med.
try 1/2 (I use a pill splitter that you can get at drug store). As I got used to the phentermine, I increased to a whole.
Now, I am reducing back down to 1/2 for a training, then will go back up.
A whole will give maximum effects, of course. ***Drink lots of water!! I get a headache if I don't. I am down 8 lbs so far, and like the effects very much. I am losing with exercise and even the days I don't, I still lose.
