This is the second time I have used phentermine ~ I think it is a wonder drug and am so confused over the hesitation of doctors to prescribe it. I would much rather lose weight than risk diabetes or other weight issues.
The last time I was on it, after the birth of my firstborn, I can tell you I was still hungry during the first few weeks, but the phen does take the edge off a bit ~ motivates me and gets me up and going to the gym. The dry mouth side effect has me drinking TONS of water. After a couple of weeks, your body adjusts to your new way of eating and the hunger goes away ~ chew lots of gum.
You still have to work to lose the weight ~ it is not a magic pill. Last time I took it I lost 45 lbs in about 4-5 months, I only took the phen for the first 3 months. I promise, it really does help because it retrains your mind to pay attention to every single thing you eat.
I think the biggest thing for me this go-around is realizing that I have been eating for other reasons ~ I THINK I am hungry when I am really just bored, or feeling emotionally drained, or tired. That isn't truly hunger, and using these 3 months to get those issues fixed while taking the phen is part of the big goal I have.
Now that baby #2 is 4 months old, I have to lose alot more than 45 lbs...because I have really let myself go, but I am confident that the phentermine is the best way to go. It really does work if you work with it.
