I've been overweight for most of my life, but I had heard many people where I work tell me phentermine worked wonders. So naturally, I ran out and got myself a 37.5 mg. RX for it. Here's the deal.... MAYBE I'm just jumping to conclusions...

Before phentermine I would eat a fruit and grain bar for breakfast and a banana, a smart ones/lean cuisine for lunch, and the same for dinner. Occassionally I would eat a snack in between there, but no big stuff. majorly.

I started taking the phentermine a week ago and the first 3 days it was hard to eat anything at all. I felt so full on energy all the time and I was exercise and not eating half of what I did, it was great. For the past four days I take in in the morning and I Might as well be taking candy. I feel nothing. No energy, I'm tired and sluggish now all the time. I eat about the same. But I could eat more if I actually wanted to. And I can actually snack in between meals unlike the first 3 days. I feel as if I never had taken it in the morning. What's the deal?

Granted its only been 7 days on it, but shouldn't I be feeling more? Any suggestions as to how I can get it to work better? I tried to download that phentermine report and nothing ever emailed me or happened when I tried to download it.

Honestly, it may be that you aren't eating enough. I know that sounds weird, but truth be told, eating more often is actually a good thing. You may not be eating the right types of things, is why you are feeling hungry. I remember when I first started taking the Phen, I would get REALLY tired and run down in the afternoon. After I started eating a bit more, it got MUCH better.
It's best to eat some type of protein w/ every meal. Even if it's some type of protein shake, that's still good. And eating 4-6 mini-meals a day is a great thing also.

I've gone through that same thing PittehKitteh ( ..that's cute) and I did what Amanda and I've seen other suggest and try to eat more often even though I don't necessarily feel like it. I've added more yogurt or a boiled egg or something with protein somewhere in my day and I have noticed a difference in my sluggishness. I've done the protein shake thing too before I started taking phen, I used the GNC one that tastes just like a vanilla milkshake. That helped with my appetite and the sluggish feeling too.

Another thing I did was start back taking a mulitvitamin because I knew I wasn't eating enough and getting enough of the daily vitamins I'd normally get from food. I definitely can tell the difference when I don't take one.

I agree with amanda and flgirlie-
phen will give you more energy, but if you aren't taking in any fuel for the body, there isn't a pill in the world that will help with that. Not only will you not have any energy if you don't eat, but you will actually hinder your weight loss by causing your body to go into a starvation/survival mode that slows your metabolism to a crawl to hang on to what it has. Google "metabolic rate calculators", use one to enter in your height, weight, and lifestyle factors to find how many calories you burn in a day. Keep your daily intake about 500-700 calories below that-any less for an extended period is unhealthy and won't give you the results you want anyway.

I fell sluggish all day and tired.and I now know I just need to eat more..I did start eating more 2 days ago, and dont have much energy yet. but I do need to take a multi-vitiman. does any one drink slimfast while taking this pill???

Slim-Fast really isn't the most ideal thing to be drinking. I started out using those too and just felt cruddy. Plus, the regular ones are loaded w/ sugars! Not a very good thing when trying to diet if you ask me LOL I know I lost more when I stopped drinking them and just ate regular food.
One thing I really like for breakfast, and I'm going to be adding a recipe section on here for this and other things before long, is egg roll-up.
I would use one whole egg, and 2-3 egg whites mixed together. Scramble that w/ a bit of salsa and cheddar cheese, and wrap it w/ a whole wheat tortilla. Very yummy. Also, oatmeal, not instant, is a great breakfast food, as is just plain old cold cereal. Specail K makes some yummy one's!

Thanks for the advice. I went and looked at my metabolic rate and found out how many calories I should be having a day...which isn't hard. Shouldn't I worry about my fat and carbs though too? I get so confused at what I should and shouldn't be watching. I heard somewhere that if you are trying to loose weight you shouldn't eat more than 24 grams of fat in a day... which proves to be hard as hell when you're trying to level out with your calorie intake you need.

Maybe I put too much into and worry that I'm going to screw up and not get the most out of the phentermine and exercise. I think way too much.
