I just took my first phentermine pill today (30mg). I know that mixing any medication with liquor is not a good thing, but I'm just curious to know if I'm supposed to cut out liquor completely. I am by no means an alcoholic, but I'm 23 and still in the "partying" stage of my life where me and my friends will go out once in a while to go dancing and have some drinks.

My routine will be to take one pill at 8am (1 hour before breakfast) each day. So, if I go out later in the evening or if I plan on going out, should I not take a pill or should I just refrain from drinking?

I don't HAVE to drink alcohol, but I just wanted to know if it is okay if I stick to certain guidelines. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would not worry about it. Hey, liquor doesn't have any carbs!

The notice about not mixing medicine with alcohol is on just about everything whether it actually affects the product or not.

Hello! Just thought I would give my opinion on mixing alcohol and phen.

I was on the 37.5 and taking half in the morning the half in early afternoon. I did decide to have a couple of drinks one evening and the phentermine did not mix well with the alcohol at all. For me, it intensified the effect of the alcohol. It make me dizzy and feel like like I was going to get sick! So, I did not mix the two anymore b/c I did not like the way it make me feel. :(

I really don't know if you took your phen early in the day that it would make a difference or not. Top Dawg could answer that question for you.


P.S. I am 37 now and I remember those partying days of 23. Have fun but be careful!

I'm mailing all the way from rainy England (land of the binge drinkers!). I'm 21, I rarely drink during the week, but on I friday night I generally go to the pub and on a Saturday I usually end up in a club. Although I'm sure the effects of Phen vary from person to person... I have not had an adverse affect when mixing Phen and Alcohol. I can honestly blame my weekly hangovers on my love of Red wine (seems such a good idea when I'm opening the bottle...). I'd suggest taking it easy the first night you drink, dont mix the grape and the grain Et cetera......

I have drank a couple times while on Phen and have not had any side effects or anything seem different. Like everyone else said just see what works for you. Good luck!

Most people say it doesn't affect alcohol. I've only had an actual "party" night once while on phen, and I did feel more of an effect from the drinks. But I don't really think it was directly because of the phentermine. I think it had more to do with the fact that I hadn't eaten much that day, so I metabolized it faster. So just be careful about that aspect of it.
