with the phen, my heart rate was going from like 140 to 169 in a couple minutes. it was crazy. but i read up on target heart rate and they say that you shouldn't be in the cardio zone because then you only burn carbs. i don't get it. when i go slow on the elliptical, i am burning fat but when i start going fast, i am burning carbs. i wonder if that has anything to do with the slow weight loss? anyone beg to differ with this? thanks

Hi, I wannaloze! Don't know why I am answering here because I can barely even remember when I was able to get my heart rate up and keep it up, which is exactly what I should be doing.:( Kimber and Ian are 2 that I can think of that really have knowledge about this stuff. There are many folks here who do that good kind of exercise.You might want to ask them or PM them. Good Luck with it!

when im on the treadmill, i put in my age and weight and i was told the target h/r was 124 but it goes up and down ranging from 116 to 146. i guess because i take my pill around 9:00 and i work out at 12:00. i was wondering about the heart rate thing too! i hope u get more responses!

well my husband said one of the fitness trainers at his job said she lost a tremendous amount of weight staying in the fat burning zone. she said it feels like you aren't doing anything but she lost like 15 pounds in a few weeks just eating sensible and doing an hour in the weight loss zone for two weeks. i have been doing that and on the elliptical it feels like you are doing nothing but you sweat like crazy and i burn like 650 cals in 50 min. i'll let you guys know.
