Hey everyone! I have been taking Phen since October 22. I am only taking half of a 37.5 pill. I am eating a WW diet plan. I am working out every night for about 45 min. doing the Slim in 6 DVD. I sometimes try to do the Slim in 6 in the am and pm. But that doesn't always happen cuz sometimes I just can't get my booty outta bed!! But I make sure to do it at least once a day for 6 days a week. If I do it twice, I consider it a bonus. Here is what I am confused about. The very first week that I was taking Phen, I lost 6 pounds. I was sooooo excited! Now, it has been a couple more weeks and nothing. I am still exercising just like the I was in the beginning. I am still following WW pretty darn religiously. So, I'm just trying to figure out why nothing seems to be working. Don't get me wrong, 6 pounds was GREAT! But it happened so quickly and I got so excited and now I just feel as though I am doing something wrong. Then I got to thinking that maybe I was building muscle and they say muscle weighs more than fat. So I noticed that my clothes do fit differently, but no more so than that first week. I'm not expecting a miracle here...but I do feel like I am trying the best I can to stick with this and follow the rules. Does it sound like I've made a mistake? Or is there something I should change? Maybe I just need to be more patient?? I guess maybe I'm just a little disappointed. I would have rather lost nothing for the first 2 weeks and then poof, 6 pounds! Being that it happened the way that it did, it just makes me feel as if I'm doing something all wrong. Any advice??? On a happier note...I do love Phen. I don't think about food 24/7, I don't get cravings, I'm hardly ever hungry. There are many times that when I am done with dinner, I have some pts left over and don't want to use them, but I make myself. Only because I know that if I go under my pt. allowance for the day, I will go into starvation mode. I really don't want that. I just feel like I'm finally doing this right (I've tried WW three times in the past) but I don't have much to show for it. Please help!

Everyone looses weight differently and at different rates, it is also worth remembering that slow steady weight loss is likly to stay off longer than fast rapid loss.

Hi, Med! It sounds as if Lea is right in that we each follow our own body's schedules for losing. I can never-even the first week- remember losing more than 1/2 pound a week, and sometimes the scale wouldn't budge for 3 weeks. :o
:p Try to think of it as a pregnacy in that you might take longer to birth the finished product, but you must do all things right toward building a brand new life for yourself, in the meanwhile.
:o I know it can be quite frustrating. Echoing Lea again, a slow loss is much easier to maintain than a fast one. Some need to see a huge difference immediately because, gees, if we can put it on so fast, why can't we take it off that way too??
I lost with Weight Watchers many, many years ago, and know it used to be balanced and very heathy, but we had to count calories then. Do they still do that? Aim for 1200 calories day, and wroite down EVERY sip or bite you take. Some gals like the page at fitday.com to do this. Eat and snack 5-6 times daily, including protein at each time, be sure to eat breakfast, and drink a minimum of 100 ounces of water ever day.
Keep posting and reading HERE, Lovie. We will help you through the rough spots. We really CARE about each other. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Hello everyone. I need some advice. I know I've read it before on the forum, but can't seem to locate it. I think I have what I'll call "phen burn-out". This happens if I take it for too long a period, and it doesn't seem to work any longer and I don't get that energy rush like before. I'm getting hungry more often than before and I'm eating more than usual. Not good. But, I also changed the type of pills I'm taking because I was afraid to quit when the 37.5mg's were pretty scarce. I'm taking the 30mg. capsule, the yellow ones from Amide, I believe. They don't seem as strong as the others or I've got burn-out. I can't remember what the remedy was for this or the things I should be doing to regenerate. Can anyone remember? Thanks for your help!! ttkitty.

Hi, Sweetie. You are right! There ARE things you can do. Though I couldn't test any difference when taking it before or after my coffee, some say to cut out coffee. You won't find that in the papers that come with the phentermine tablets or by doing a search, so that might be a tale you'll have to tell for yourself. I urge you to limit yourself to only water during the day. And to force yourself to drink 8 ounces before each meal.
It is helpful to add a bit of lemon juice to it as Ian says that helps the hunger and I add Equal to make it a lemonade!:p
You can try the sublingual B-12 tablets or the shot, which must be prescribed. This is what I use, but I have been on them a long time and can't judge any difference.
Though you cannot prescribe them for yourself, some say Prozac or a similar antidepressive can boost the effects, but this is a dangerous combo unless you really need it. It can possibly cause Seratonin Syndrome. Again, I have been on Prozac for 10 years so can't give you a report on its true boosting power.:o
There is an amino acic tab you can get at WalMart for less than $10 called 5-HTP. It is benign and they say it's best to try 100-300 mg before meals. I took 50 but couldn't tell a difference.
:o I am ALWAYS a wee bit hungry, even when I was on the phentermine.
Some of the folks here say you must go off it completely for a week; some say 2 weeks; then restart it for mamimum benefit.
Be sure you eat some protein when you first wake up to jumpstart your metabolism. And eat a small amount every 3 hours.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

Hello there everyone. Now that I've read Susan's post, I realized that about 4-6 weeks ago, I stopped taking my anti-depressant, Wellbutrin. That may be affecting my reaction to the phen as well. I don't know. I'll have to get some Vitamin B also. I may just have to bite the bullet and not take it for a week or so. I just hate getting so tired during the day. I work two "jobs" and I really need that extra little energy to get it going sometimes. I work in a hectic store, Home Depot, and then I work at every night, teaching myself computers and internet marketing, webdesign, etc. Doesn't sound like much, but some nights I don't get more than 3-5 hrs. of sleep. Well, thank you for your post. I appreciate the suggestions. Now that I finished my Oreo cookies (!) I have to do some more work. Take care everyone, ttkitty

Hello again. I should have mentioned that I most certainly have put on about 3 pounds in the last week. My jeans are tighter in the waist than before, not noticeably, except to me. I don't want to gain all that back. Even though I've only lost a little compared to some who have done really really well, but to me it's a lot. You know what I mean? I'm still hoping I'll be able to tuck my shirts in again someday! Anyway, just wanted to share that. If you're not careful, it will come right back on before you know it. TTYL, ttkitty.

I agree ttkitty. There were times when I lost weight, got off track, and WHOA I'm bigger than before. Thats what I'm a little scared of when the time comes that either it isn't working anymore, or I'm at my goal. I will try everything in my power not to gain the weight back, but if you've been heavy most of your life, it's just as easy to go back to your old ways.
I would watch what your eating a little more closely, and maybe you can find a re-occurring theme in your eating. Maybe a little more sweets that usual? or maybe your not exercising as much as before? 3 pounds isn't a big deal yet, and now that you have realized that you are taking two steps back, you can leap forward and stop the gaining in its tracks.
